The CB300R is priced at Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom) and it is sold exclusively at Honda BigWing and BigWing Topline dealerships across India.

Features:

The Honda CB300R gets all-LED lighting and a full-LCD multifunction instrument cluster,  same as that on the BS4 version, but now features a gear position indicator. We wish Honda had equipped the bike with TFT instrumentation and smartphone connectivity. Moreover, the bike gets a gold-finished front fork, darker shades for the fuel tank extensions, and a slightly redesigned exhaust muffler.

Engine:

The CB300R BS6 is powered by a 286cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC motor, which is slightly more powerful than the BS4 version, and that’s despite adhering to stricter emission norms. The updated naked makes 31.1PS at 9000rpm and 27.5Nm at 7500rpm. In comparison, the BS4 bike produced 30.4PS at 8000rpm and 27.4Nm at 6500rpm. Honda has also equipped the motorcycle with a slipper clutch for its 6-speed gearbox.

Suspension And Brakes:

In terms of underpinnings, the BS6 CB300R has remained unchanged. It continues with the same diamond-type frame with an upside-down Showa front fork and a rear mono-shock with a seven-step preload adjustment. A 296mm petal disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear (paired with IMU-assisted dual-channel ABS). It rolls on 17-inch alloys wrapped in 110-section front and 150-section rear tubeless tyres. The motorcycle tips the scale at 146kg kerb, 1kg lighter than its predecessor. The ground clearance and seat height are 157mm and 801mm, respectively.

Chief rivals of the Honda CB300R include the Bajaj Dominar 400, BMW G 310 R, and KTM 390 Duke. Given its price, the CB300R also competes with the KTM RC 390 and the TVS Apache RR 310.
