Honda Activa 5G- Top Class with Top Performance

The Honda Activa 5G is one of the best scooter in the market. I bought this scooter around 9 months ago from a Honda dealership in Thrissur. The total price was about ₹70,000 including Insurance and RTO for the Deluxe Version which I bought. It will go up to ₹75,000 with additional fittings like a mat, seat cover, handle cover, footrest, Crash guard etc.

The buying experience was flawless and I had no frills in getting it. The salesman was polite and had discussed with me all the features of the Scooter, It's price, colours available, servicing and other details. I bought the Matte Axis Grey Metallic colour and it looks very cool.

On the basis of riding and handling, The seat height is absolutely perfect and riding experience is superb with no jerks or any inconsistencies. The Braking is spot on too. Acceleration is also gradual and steady.

The fuel tank capacity is 5 litre which is the standard in this segment. The scooter gives me a mileage of around 50 kilometres which is satisfactory.

On the looks side, It is a good looking, tested design which is suitable for both male and female riders. The colour and finish are top class. The instrument cluster
also matches the style of the scooter and provides all requisite details.

Coming to the servicing and maintenance, The first service was within a month of purchase. The service had to be booked a day or two prior. I took it to the service centre at 9 am. The service staff were pleasant and asked me about my experience with the scooter, whether I had found anything wrong etc. When they confirmed everything was alright they took it for servicing which took till noon.
Subsequent Servicing have all been without issues.

Coming to the Pros and Cons that I have discovered with the scooter.

Pros:
1. Full-LED headlamp with DRL
2. 4-in-1 lock mechanism
3. The new semi-digital instrument console (available only in the DLX variant) comes with a vehicle-service reminder. It has also got an ECO speed indicator, that lets the rider know the speeds which give good fuel efficiency

Cons:
1. Not many cosmetic updates from Activa 4G.
2. No external fuel-filling
3. No alloy wheels nor telescopic front forks.
