BMW has also introduced variable valve timing to the range with the R 1250 GS. Branded as Shiftcam, the system also varies valve lift in addition to valve timing and is expected to make the bike Euro V-compliant. And in a welcome move, the 6.5-inch TFT instrument cluster that was optional on the outgoing bike is now offered as standard.
