TVS Star City Plus Review
  • Overview

TVS is a name that has sealed itself among the higher echelons of two-wheeler manufacturers both in our country, and in some countries abroad as well. This is a powerhouse of a corporation, loading our streets with priceless innovations and engineering marvels like few other companies of Indian origin have achieved. TVS has made a great achievement in raising the standards of Indian engineering to a level that has gone far and wide across the globe. Its latest release rides the prestigious title of Star City Plus, a name that this latest bike proudly wears.

The Star City Plus has gathered an immensely overwhelming response, and has even been entitled 'best bike of the year' for the year 2015. It is designed with an aerodynamic stealth that only the best of motor vehicles are blessed with, almost seeming to prance through the roads like a horse as it drives. Its shape is thin and scissor welded, giving it the ability to weave through the dense city roads without hindrance and hampering. The vehicle evokes the evolutionary discipline that many other marvels from TVS have achieved, such as the Phoenix 125 and the Apache. But this model goes a few steps further, being able to take on a daring new format that challenges anything that the world of bikes have seen before.

It has a massive engine, capable of wielding great power, but at the same time, delivering it responsibly. The Advanced Ecothrust engine is a one of a kind powerplant, for the reason that it saves fuel in the most efficient and forbearing manner possible. The engine format is bent for the best speed and performance possible, while at the same time, keeping the green screen clean always. It delivers an exceptionally low fuel yield and a strong mileage, while at the same time, surging up the performance far past the standards that TVS has always yearned for. The engine has a stomping capacity of 110cc, making it a truly formidable trim indeed.

  • Design

TVS had started production on this model as far up as many years back, and its designing has been specialized to suit the best of all elements, ensuring that the ride experience is visually exuberant and physically astonishing. The machine is shaped in the overlying format that many other of TVS's models have, including the Apache. Beside the bold front format and the thin headlamps, the sideways of the bike are thin and streamlined, hoisted in an elegant and attractive manner. All put together, this is a machine that is truly evoking to the senses, one that manages to place a human footprint on its owner.

    APPEARANCE
The streamlined and aerodynamically modeled grace of the vehicle is defined by sharp contours that bring a touch of unique personality and modernity to the bike, setting it apart from usual bikes of the day, and at the same time, ensuring that it stays true to its manufacturer's guides. It has a muscular fuel tank propped at the front, created with a fusion of form and function. It is meant to lower the coefficient of friction when driving by reducing air resistance with its sharp designing. The side panels of the machine have stylish Honeycomb textured grilles, and these are meant to give it a most expensive flavor to go along with its intense appeal.

Sitting right behind it, slanting by the walls right above its rear wheel, is the emblem of the vehicle model. The emblem is stylishly designed, molded out of special fiber and given a glittery embossed finish for the most striking look to it. Attached at the rear is an ergonomically designed grab rain, made of aluminum to bring together style and function together in the best grip. The tail-lamp is stylish, reflective and curvy in its modeling. It enhances the visual conditions of the road behind it for the best safety at all ends for other vehicles nearing this one down the road.

  • Engine & Performance

As mentioned before, this machine is gifted with an engine model that is rather rare in its combination of performance and fuel savings. The Ecothrust engine that fires the Star Plus is truly efficient in all terms. It allows the vehicle to pounce forth down the road, with a displacement value of 110cc. This is a truly remarkable value for a vehicle that ploughs on city roads, and is the reason The TVS Star City Plus is one of the best performers on Indian roads. The engine delivers a maximum power of 8.2 hp, making this a rare feat for Indian roads. Furthermore, it peaks with a torque of 8.7Nm, further astounding its audience.

The advanced engine is fitted with a Molycoat Piston that ensures reduced friction within the cylinder and better combustion. Its power is funneled through an advanced 4 speed constant mesh system that guarantees the best performance with its sharp shifting. The advanced engine also scores for a truly impressive mileage. It delivers probably the best-in-class mileage of 86kmpl, and this registers as possibly one of the most dynamic engineering feats of any motor vehicle company in recent years.

  • Braking & Handling

The power and thrust of the TVS Star City Plus is safely guided through a very efficient braking system. Arming the front and the rear brakes are hand operated, internally expanded 130mm dia, and these make for the smoothest and most reliable braking expertise. The bike is allowed to glide forward with ease and elegance, but at the same time, to stomp to a halt when needed in an equally utmost grace. The cornering capacities are also guarded with the help of these advanced braking instruments. The chassis and the suspension regiment of the bike are also honed to be top notch. The single cradle tubular frame that forms the chassis system is greatly advanced, and keeps the two-wheeler in the most firmly seated balance always.

Furthermore, the front and the rear axles are guarded with a telescopic, oil dampened system, ensuring that the stability of the drive prevails no matter what. All brought together, the handling and the stability of the machine is guaranteed the firmest grounding possible, with the advanced engineering that this company captures in this great machine.

  • Safety Features

This is a bike from one of the leading two-wheeler giants in our nation, and one that ensures that no facet of its products is left unchecked. Safety is affirmed to the highest extent with the designing of this vehicle. It is shielded with the most efficient and well formatted braking prowess, with internally expanded dia equipping the front and rear brakes. The suspension and the chassis are also wrought to the finest quality, ensuring that the ride stability is raised to its very finest. As a result, the overall handling of the motorcycle is blanketed by a great safety always. Furthermore, the radials that adorn the wheels are also of the highest quality, bringing the vehicle to its firmest stop in terms of safety.

  • Pros

    High fuel efficiency

    Great performance and engine power

    Affordable

  • Cons

Its overall features could be enhanced

Braking could be improved in its regard

    Seating can be more comfortable
