Expected to be priced at around Rs 10 lakh, the Vespa 946 Emporio Armani will be the most expensive scooter to be offered in India.

Piaggio is finally going to launch its most expensive scooter, the Vespa 946, in India on October 25, 2016. Instead of launching the standard version, the company is bringing the more exclusive edition of the scooter by Emporio Armani. The scooter was introduced in 2015 to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the Piaggio Group along with the 40th anniversary of the Giorgio Armani fashion house. Showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in India, the Vespa 946 Emporio Armani is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 10 lakh in the country, making it an exclusive collector’s edition two-wheeler.

Along with a very distinctive retro-futuristic design and styling, the Vespa 946 Emporio Armani features a unique grey-green paint scheme, with the green shade visible under a certain light condition only. Moreover, it gets a galvanised satin treatment for a more premium paint finish. The highlights of the model include its floating saddle, LCD instrumentation cluster, full LED headlamp and tail light. Most of the parts and components of the scooter feature the Emporio Armani branding, including the side covers and the headlight casing. Along with leather seat trim and hand grips, the company also offers a leather bag as an optional extra with the scooter.

Powering the Vespa 946 Emporio Armani is a 125cc engine, making 11.9PS of power and a peak torque of 10.3Nm. The company has blessed this radical scooter with advanced features such as front and rear disc brakes with ABS and ASR (anti-slip regulator) traction control system. Production of the scooter has been kept limited; its launch has been scheduled in select countries only and India is going to join this list on October 25.
