The GSX-R250 has only been a topic of rumours till now but the patent images reveal a lot more about the bike

The patent images of Suzuki's small displacement motorcycle GSX-R250 have been caught. The images show the design of the GSX-R250, which is a lot like the upcoming big-displacement GSX-R1000. The small-displacement motorcycle from the Japanese bike maker Suzuki has been a subject of rumours but this is the first time it has been seen in any form.

However, a caveat here is that the true displacement of the engine this motorcycle will have is still unknown. While many believe it should come with an engine displacing 300cc or more, it seems highly unlikely that it would sport the GW250 engine from the Inazuma. With that said, do not expect big performance numbers from the GSX-R250 either.

What we can also deduce from the photos is that Suzuki is making of use of traditional forks up front instead of upside-down units. It is nothing bad, however, as most bikes in the small-displacement category use traditional forks. Other details you can see from the photos are a single headlamp up front, monoshock at the rear and fairly upright seating position as the foot pegs are not as rear set as on performance motorcycles. There are single disc brakes at the front and back and split seats too. It is being rumoured that the GSX-R250 will be closer to the Honda CBR250R in terms of performance than the CBR250RR or the RC 390 from KTM.
