Timed to coincide with World Motorcycle Day, the two-day biking event -- MotoDay 2016 -- took place on June 18 and 19 at Lavasa. Organised by MotoDreamz the event is quite popular among enthusiasts of the biking fraternity. Making it even more special for them Triumph unveiled a special Bonneville Street Twin customised with an official Scrambler Kit.

Being a part of the factory made “Inspiration Kits” offered by Triumph Motorcycles the Scrambler Kit doesn't affect the warranty of your motorcycle. It is purely a cosmetic kit including a raised exhaust, brat seat and an engine sump guard and doesn't add any positive or negative value to the performance. And the new 900cc ‘high torque’ parallel twin engine continues to make 55PS of power and 80Nm of torque even with the Scrambler kit. The company hasn't announced the price of the kit yet but the stock Triumph Street Twin starts at Rs 6.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Speaking on the occasion, Vimal Sumbly, Managing Director, Triumph Motorcycles India said, “MotoDay 2016 has been a fantastic platform to celebrate the love of riding, making it a level playing field for all motorcycle lovers. Motorcycling, that fuses fun, freedom and adventure, is the ultimate equaliser and it was amazing to see the passion with which the biking community has come together under one roof. The overwhelming response from the riders and motorcycle enthusiasts has made us upbeat about the times to come.”

Triumph also showcased the newly launched Thruxton R at the 2016 MotoDay, the flagship and most powerful model in its modern classic fleet. Launched at Rs 10.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the cafe racer is the third model in the new Bonneville range that has been launched in the country after the Street Twin and the Bonneville T120.

On the successful third year of the MotoDay, Neeraj Athalye, co-founder, MotoDreamz said, “MotoDay is an excellent platform for rider from across brands to join in and celebrate this memorable day together. We are extremely happy with Triumph and our association and look forward to similar rider focused events in the near future.”

As we mentioned above, 2016 is the third consecutive year of MotoDay and this year the carnival witnessed a turnout of over 2,000 bikers celebrating the love of everything on two wheels.
