Royal Enfield Planning to Enter Brazil

Royal Enfield, a subsidiary of Eicher Motors is planning to enter the Brazil two-wheeler market. As a part of its global expansion strategy, RE is establishing itself at places like Indonesia and Thailand. With the launch of its latest 411cc Himalayan happening soon, the company is all set to offer a lot of options in 250cc to 700cc range as it is aiming to become the leading manufacturer in this segment. Last few months have been very productive for the motorcycle manufacturer as it entered places like London, Madrid, Paris, Dubai, Bogota and Medellin.

Speaking on company’s entry in Brazil, Siddhartha Lal, CEO - Royal Enfield, said, "Currently, we are looking at Latin America and South East Asia regions for our growth in international markets. We are already in Colombia and now figuring out a way to enter Brazil, the biggest market in Latin America. So that's on the horizon." He added, "Indonesia is among the largest two-wheeler markets in the world. We have opened a store in Jakarta. Thailand is a very developed market for mid-segment and we aim to open our first dealership there soon."

The company currently sells various 350cc and 500cc bikes like Bullet, Classic, Thunderbird and Continental GT. Besides this, RE is planning to produce about 9 lac motorcycles by the end of the year 2018. There are currently two manufacturing facilities of RE in Tamil Nadu, and the third one is coming in a few months. Speaking at Himalayan unveil event about company’s plans, Siddhartha Lal, CEO and MD, Eicher Motors said, "We are looking to open more stores across the nation and further plans are to expand the Royal Enfield in the global market."
