DSK Hyosung is gearing up to launch two bikes Hyosung GT300R and updated GT650R in India. They are expected to arrive in the country by mid-2016, Bike Advice reported. The two were recently showcased at the 73rd EICMA in Milan and had received a decent feedback from the audience.

Speaking to Bike Advice, Shirish Kulkarni, Executive Director, DSK Group confirmed the India launch of the above-stated bikes. He said, “The GTs should come in May June-ish roughly. They are good looking. At EICMA, they (Hyosung) put up all of them. They have four new products coming in and all four of them were at EICMA. But they (GTs) are still not production ready, they are still, at least, six months away.”

Once launched, the GT300R will replace the existing GT250R. The bike is powered by a 275cc, 75-degree V-twin engine that generates 27.6bhp of maximum power at 10,500 rpm along with 23.5 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. Unlike the 250cc model, its elder sibling will arrive with a dual channel standard ABS and a sharper front end. The second bike on the cards - Hyosung GT650R gets a 647cc, 90-degree V-twin motor that churns out a maximum power of 73.4bhp and 54.4 Nm of peak torque. The refreshed version would be lighter than the existing model and is fitted with a 15-liter fuel tank that has been downsized by 2 liters.

Over the past few years, DSK has been quite successful in getting a good hold on the Indian two-wheeler market. Apart from Hyosung, DSK Benelli is also in the process of bringing its two new motorcycles, TRK502 and Tornado 302 to India. With a great line-up awaiting to launch in the domestic market, the company can definitely hope for grabbing a certain market share in the premium motorcycle segment.
