Japanese manufacturer Kawasaki have just launched a motorcycle which in their words is the most nimble bike. The new 2017 Kawasaki Z125 Pro is Kawasaki’s latest entrant in to the mini bike category. The motorcycle is definitely not coming to India; however, it is going to rival the Honda Grom in some other countries. The Z125 Pro has been launched in the United States of America and has been priced around $2,999 (Approx Rs. 2.01 lac). The Z125 Pro will be a good motorcycle for beginners to learn on and will also make for a fun second motorcycle.

Powering the Kawasaki Z125 Pro is a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, 125cc air-cooled SOHC engine that comes with a digital fuel injection system. The engine has been tuned for quick acceleration and comes mated to a traditional four-speed manual gearbox. Shifting duties are handled by a link-type shifter lever very similar to that of a full-size sports bike.

The bike runs on 12" alloy wheels wrapped in 100/90 tyre up front and 120/70 tyre at the rear. Coming to a halt is easy as the Z125 Pro uses a 184mm petal-style disc at the rear and a 200mm petal-style disc up front.

Kawasaki Z125 Pro has been assembled on a compact chassis and gets 30mm inverted front forks with 100mm of travel while the rear gets an offset spring-loaded, hydraulic damper which comes with a 4-way preload adjustability and a travel of 104mm.

Overall dimensions of the Z125 Pro are 1,699mm x 749mm x 1,006mm (L x W x H), however, the seat height of 805mm is similar to a normal motorcycle. The bike has a curb weight of just 102 kg and comes with a fuel tank capacity of 7.57-litre.

Kawasaki have already launched the KLX 110 in India and Honda have launched the Navi. These are both mini-bikes and show that manufacturers have found a market for them in India. If the sales figures look good at the end of the year, Honda may even bring the Grom to India and we may even see the Kawasaki Z125 Pro on Indian shores soon thereafter.
