The year 2015 served as a platform for many foreign manufacturers to enter the Indian two-wheeler market. Italian motorcycle maker, MV Agusta, is one of those big names which landed on Indian soil. Now, the news has come out that the company is planning to start CKD operations in the country. As of now, all the motorcycles are being imported directly from Italy as CBUs while the first bike to come through CKD route will be MV Agusta F3 800. This comes at the time when the Italian superbike maker is looking to make its products more affordable to the buyers and remains competitive in the market. The production of F3 800 is most likely to take place at the Kinetic’s facility in MIDC, Pune or might take place at its spare parts factory in Ahmednagar.

The F3 800 is a middleweight supersport offering from MV Agusta’s fleet and will be the first fully faired motorcycle to be assembled in the country. In terms of design, this handsome looking motorcycle borrows its styling cues from its elder sibling, the F4, which is arguably amongst the most good looking motorcycles in the world. Under its striking body, the bike is loaded with various electronic systems bringing multiple configurations to the rider. Its Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System (MVICS) comprises of a ride-by-throttle system, an eight-level traction control, three preloaded maps and three different settings for ABS.

This beautiful fully-faired beast houses a three-cylinder in line 798cc engine that churns out 148bhp of power along with 88Nm of peak torque. Its smooth powerplant is mated to a 6-speed transmission and the addition of slipper clutch makes gear shifts smoother. For braking purposes, it boasts 320mm dual discs up front and a single 220mm disc at the rear.
