India Kawasaki Motor (IKM) has been enjoying top position among the Japanese ‘Big Four’ bike makers in India, in terms of large capacity motorcycle sales and presence, thanks to its popular Ninja model line in the small and mid-capacity segments. The company now seems to be gearing up ensure the same kind of dominance in the large-capacity superbikes segment, with the launch its 11th exclusive showroom in Ahmedabad today.

This new showroom located at Shapath Hexa on SG Highway in Ahmedabad was inaugurated by Nishikawa Shigeto, deputy managing director, IKM at 11 am. He also unveiled the 2016 models of ZX-10R and ZX-14R during the day, that were launched across the country a day earlier. The showroom has been started by Anish Amlani, who also owns the Kawasaki Surat showroom in Gujarat and other dealerships.

Talking about the company’s plans at the occasion, Shigeto-san said that Kawasaki aims to have 20 such exclusive showrooms for its completely built-up (CBU) line of motorcycles with engine capacity of 800cc and above. This spells good news for Indian bike enthusiasts as with increasing presence and model launches, international companies seem to be taking the Indian buyer seriously and are trying their best to reach all corners of the country.

The models that will be available at such exclusive showrooms include the Z800 and Z1000 nakeds, Versys 1000, Ninja 1000, ZX-10R, ZX-14R, the supercharged Ninja H2 as well as a small, clutchless dirtbike - KLX 110. The entire range has been put on display at the showroom, the company’s 11th such in the country.

This comes a day after the company inuagurated its 10th showroom in Gurgaon, Haryana. The company now has showrooms in Ahmedabad, Gurgaon, Surat, Navi Mumbai, Cochin, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, South Delhi, Bangalore and Pune.

The smaller capacity Ninja 300 and Ninja 650 as well as the Versys 650 - all locally assembled in India - continue to be sold at Bajaj Auto’s KTM-Kawasaki joint dealerships across the country. These smaller bikes will also be available for booking at the exclusive showrooms.
