The Indian Scout Limited Edition has been released with an old-school look and only 10 units of the bike will be produced.

2016 Indian Scout Limited Edition

The iconic American motorcycle maker, Indian Motorcycle, has launched a limited edition of its 2016 Scout, which gets a locally inspired old-school styling. Besides the standard features of the bike, the Indian Scout LE gets some additional genuine accessories to give it a unique appearance and its production will be limited to just 10 units.

Additional features of the Indian Scout LE are chrome wire wheels, a 1920s solo tan leather seat and a custom hand painted two-tone tank with painted Indian warbonnet. The bike has been introduced in the Australian market only and priced at $20,995 (approx Rs. 10.65 lakh) that means for just $1,000 (approx Rs. 50,700) extra over the standard trim.

2016 Indian Scout Limited Edition

Peter Alexander, managing director of Polaris Australia and New Zealand which owns Indian and Victory motorcycles, says Scout “changed the game for us”.

“We did well at the start with the Chief range but to go to that next level bike so soon was great. We had 300 customers put $1000 deposits down on the Scout sight unseen and price unknown. Indian as a brand never ceases to surprise me," he added.

He also said, “more and more Scouts we sell are being customised. Indian has already grown to the stage where aftermarket companies are now offering accessories for our bikes.”

The old Scout was the original bike of choice for the Wall of Death and the 2016 Indian Scout even comes with a very advanced liquid-cooled, 1,131cc V-twin engine. Using an electronic fuel injection system, the motor makes out 100 horses of maximum power and torque up to 97Nm. With the features like a lightweight chassis, counterbalancing and a 6-speed gearbox, the new Indian Scout becomes one of the fastest cruisers across the world.
