Finishing second at round two of FIM Asia Road Racing Championship, Hari Krishnan becomes the second Indian racer to win the podium in Asia Dream Cup, after S Sarath Kumar.

Making the Indian tricolour fly high in Thailand, Honda-sponsored Indian racer Hari Krishnan has clinched his first ever international-level podium finish at the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. Putting in a spectacular performance from start to finish, the 22-year old rider secured second position in Race 2 of the Asia Dream Cup at the championship.

With this achievement he became the second Indian to manage a podium finish in the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship after S Sarath Kumar, who finished second in Qatar during 2014 season. After finishing, Hari took the Indian flag to the podium, sending the Indian diaspora present at the Chang International Circuit into raptures.

Trained at Honda’s Ten10 Racing academy, Hari was selected by the company to represent India at the tournament. He was selected on the basis of his consistent performances in the Honda One Make Race Championships. Earlier, he finished Race 1 in 11th position and currently placed seventh in the overall Championship Standings with 32 points.

The Asia Dream Cup, part of the FIM Asia Road Racing championship, is an intense 6-round motorcycle racing championship conducted by Honda, aimed at developing motorsport talent across the world. 18 racers from 10 countries across Asia (Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Philippines, Sri Lanka and India) race on specially modified CBR 250Rs in Asia’s best race tracks.

This year, the Buddh International Circuit will host Round 5 of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship from September 29 - October 02. Our best wishes are with Hari and we hope that he will keep our country's flag flying high in the championship.
