Honda Navi Crosses 10,000 Sales Mark

The Honda NAVi, which was unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo, has crossed the sales mark of 10,000 units
The most interesting two-wheeler unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo was undoubtedly the Honda NAVi. The unique new-generation two-wheeler grabbed most of the attention at the event thanks to its motorcycle-like styling on a scooter's platform. The company commenced its deliveries 2 months ago, in April, and now it has crossed the sales mark of 10,000 units. Currently, the Honda NAVi is retailed at Rs 39,500 (ex-showroom) in Delhi, and is available in 6 more cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Gurgaon, Mumbai and Pune. As per some reports, the company will make it available in 35 cities across the country.
The NAVi is the first product of Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) to be conceived, designed, developed and validated by its Indian R&D team. The hybrid two-wheeler is built on the platform of the successful Honda Activa, with some alterations helping to provide it with a motorcycle's look. Powering the Navi is the same 109cc engine that also does duty in most of the Honda scooters. The motor continues to make 8PS at 7,000rpm and deliver a peak torque of 8.96Nm at 5,500rpm. However, thanks to the lighter built, it feels peppier than the Activa.
The Honda NAVi runs on 12" front and 10" rear wheels, each equipped with a 130mm drum-type braking unit, and gets tubeless tyres. It gets upside-down telescopic forks at the front and a hydraulic monoshock at the rear. It is available in five colour options — red, green, white, orange and black, and will soon be offered in three variants — Street, Adventure and Off-road.
