The Adventure touring segment is picking up in India and after Royal Enfield’s new entrant - the Himalayan, it’s Austrian bike maker KTM who's planning to enter the Adventure Tourer segment in India with its new 390 Adventure. Yes, KTM is also expected to roll out the much anticipated mid-size adventure tourer that will be based on the Duke 390. An Italian website has posted a rendered image of the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure and it looks like a production ready model.

According to reports, the upcoming KTM Adventure bike will be based on any one or both of the existing engine platforms in India, however, we can expect the 390 cc version for sure. You can make out from the rendered image that the styling of the motorcycles will be inspired from the KTM 1190 Adventure. According to sources, these motorcycles could be unveiled anytime soon, may be even within a month.

Like the KTM RC Twins, the upcoming adventure machines will also share a lot of equipment with their Duke siblings like the trellis frame, the braking system and ABS. We can see significant changes in the suspension set-up as well as the tyres of the bike to make it well-suited for both on and off-road riding.

Powering the KTM 390 range is a 375cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that produces 44bhp and a peak torque of 35Nm. Like the KTM 200 and 390 models, the mid-size adventure bikes will also be manufactured at Bajaj's Chakan plant and we can expect the 390 adventure to be priced Rs. 2 lac approximately.
