Hero MotoCorp Inaugurates Centre of Innovation and Technology in Jaipur

India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp has inaugurated its Global Centre of Innovation and Technology in Jaipur, Rajasthan. This R&D centre from Hero has been built with an investment Rs. 850 crores with an aim to innovate sustainable mobility solutions.

This Jaipur-based R&D facility houses the best of global technologies in product design & development, testing and validation. The campus of the facility boasts of a 16-kms long track with 45 different surfaces to simulate real-world road conditions. It is a home to over 500 automotive experts with global and regional expertise. The operations at CIT (Centre of Innovation and Technology) will be headed by Dr Markus Braunsperger.



Commenting on the occasion, Dr Markus Braunsperger, CTO, Hero MotoCorp said, “The CIT is the new home of our R&D team and the commencement of operations here is a major milestone in our endeavour to ramp-up the product development competency to global standards at Hero. Within this facility, we are establishing new work processes and enhancing our technical skills to global benchmarks. We will compete globally, attracting the best talent from India and across the world. The CIT will become a unique workplace for engineering talent in India, bringing our R&D Vision to life–energizing smart mobility technology.”

This one-of-its-kind facility houses all aspects of Research and Development under one roof including, self-sufficient facilities for New Product Design, Prototype manufacturing, Testing and Validation. The CIT stays true to the company’s commitment to creating a sustainable future and has advanced green technologies to ensure eco-friendly operations.



Similar to any other Hero facility, the Jaipur-based CIT will also generate direct and indirect employment in the region. Within a few years of its solo journey in the automotive world, Hero MotoCorp has sincerely worked on its in-house R&D to develop consumer-oriented products. The company’s recent launches like the Maestro Edge & the Duet scooters are the first products designed and developed by Hero’s in-house R&D team.
