HX 250

Previously showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo HX250 was once again displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo. But, this time, Hero MotoCorp introduced almost production ready version of HX250 in Blue color. Now to make the most of the hype generated by this model at the event, the company has announced the power and torque figures and also the top speed of the bike at a website where all the products are listed that were unveiled at the biennial event. Along with this, the company is also showcasing their first in-house built bike Splendor iSmart 110, the concept bike XF3R, naked sport bike XTREME 200S and last but not the least electric scooter concept Dute-E.

Hero MotoCorp HX250 gets its power from a 249cc, fuel-injected, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine that is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The powerful engine is capable of churning out 30.97bhp of power at 9000 rpm and a peak torque of 23Nm at 7000 rpm. With this setup, this quarter-liter motorcycle can hit a top speed of 165 kmph, as claimed by the company. It will be the first motorcycle in the 250cc segment that features two riding modes, i.e., Sport and City.

The HX250 comes equipped with two-pod DRLs headlamp, clip-on handlebar, semi-digital instrument panel, split seat, under seat exhaust and superior Pirelli Sport Demon rubber. It has also been fitted with tubeless tyres of size 110/80 at the front and 140/70 at the rear that is further encircled over an elegant 17-inch alloy wheels. Braking duties are taken care of by durable disc brake at both the front and the rear with an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) as an optional feature or standard. The suspension system consists of telescopic forks at the front and a 5-step-adjustable mono-shock at the rear end.

The bike is benchmarked against Honda CBR250R, Kawasaki Ninja 300, DSK-Benelli TNT 300, and KTM 390 Duke. However, the company has not spoken about the launch but we believe it will be available for sale at the authorised dealerships, soon.
