The new Hero Maestro Edge could replace the old Maestro completely in the market soon.

Hero Maestro

When Hero MotoCorp was in partnership with Honda Two-Wheelers, the Indian and Japanese manufacturers were sharing technology. A few of the "Hero Honda" products were based on platforms provided by Honda. The same products are still on sale with “Hero MotoCorp” branding but still using the same technology sourced from Honda. And for that, Hero is paying a kind of royalty to the Japanese automaker. Now, the Indian two-wheeler giant doesn't want to pay that share to Honda anymore and that's why it is planning to discontinue its products that use Honda technology, and that includes the Maestro as well.

Yes, the Hero Maestro is one of the few products which are based on Honda's sourced platform and could be discontinued from the market soon. The company has already launched the new Maestro Edge with improved performance and features and the scooter is gradually overtaking market share from the old model. Currently, the company is offering both the scooters in the market.

Hero Maestro Edge

The Maestro Edge is completely designed and developed by Hero and it's one of the best 110cc scooters on sale in the market. Looking wise, it is much sportier and gets an edgy styling along with some premium elements. Powering the scooter is an all-new 110cc engine that is one of the best performing motors in the respective segment. It delivers 8.4PS of power at 8,000rpm and 8.3Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. Besides the good performance and looks, the scooter gets a host of features like LED tail lamp, smart external fuel filling, digital-analog instrument console, mobile charging port, boot light, alloy wheels, immobilizer (anti-theft system) and IBS (Integrated Braking System).

With all the advanced features, new look and better performance, the new Hero Maestro Edge is all set to replace the old Maestro completely in both the domestic and the international markets. The capital saved from the royalty after discontinuing the old Maestro will be used by the company's R&D.
