Triumph Street Twin, one of the machines launched by the manufacturer with an attractive price tag of Rs. 6.9 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi), has made the bikers go for it in a single look. With a Matte Black finish, the bike was stealing all the attention at the auto expo. Till now, more than 150 units of this modern classic Street Twin have been booked and the count is still on. Along with this, the company showcased Thruxton R from its new classic range, which is yet to be launched. The upcoming bike also grabbed the attention of more than 20 consumers at the event and the number is expected to go even higher.

The modern classic Street Twin by Triumph comes equipped with a ‘high torque’ 900cc, 8-valve, parallel-twin engine that comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox via a slip-assist clutch. The new motor delivers 18 percent more peak torque, so now it is 80Nm at just 3,200rpm. Also, the company is offering three custom kits to its consumers so that the riders can customize the machine as per their requirements.

Talking about Triumph Thruxton R, this bike has been upgraded not just in the terms of power but even visuals and comfort. The 2016 model receives a major update in the form of a brand new air-cooled, 1,200cc, parallel-twin engine. In the higher state of tuning, the new motor provides highest performance among the entire Bonneville range and delivers a peak torque of 112Nm at 4,950 rpm. It comes equipped with Showa upside down forks up front and Brembo Monobloc radially-mounted callipers and a fully-adjustable Ohlins rear shock set. For absolute tractability and comfort, the new Thruxton R will come equipped with Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tyres. The R gets three ride modes - road, rain and sports, apart from traction control, slip-assist clutch and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).

With an immense response from the consumers, the British automaker seems to be having a good time at the mega event. Let’s wait and watch that whether the other models lined up give the company a reason to celebrate or not. Till then stay tuned to BikeDekho for all the exclusive coverage of the motorcycling industry.
