Though it is a modified version by a Jakarta-based customisation house, we would love to see this Apache RTR 200 4V Adventure Tourer version in production.

Like its siblings, the recently launched TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is also a streetfighter motorcycle which is developed using the company's racing experience. However, it could be a good option for touring as well with some additions. Believing this fact, an Indonesian customising house has made an adventure tourer version of the bike. Currently TVS has no plans on developing an adventure tourer based on the RTR 200. But given the custom bike and the fact many Indian buyers are warming up to the adventure tourer genre of two-wheelers we hope they develop one.

There are lots of cosmetic changes in the motorcycle as compared to the stock Apache RTR 200 4V like a half fairing with a large windshield, luggage panniers at the rear and a  sportier dual tone paint scheme. The customers have also added beam like panels below the fuel tank for the perimeter frame look which also sports a 'Deltabox' sticker for the feel. However, the bike remains mechanically unchanged and retains the same double cradle split synchro stiff frame. The box section swingarm of the bike also gets metal finish plastic panels for the aluminum swingarm look. There are knuckle guards provided on the bike for better safety in off-roading while the suspensions have been kept exposed.

The clip-on handlebars of the standard Apache RTR 200 4V have been replaced with a raised single-piece handlebar for a better upright riding posture, while the position of footpegs remains unchanged. The front wheel also gets dual disc brakes endowing it with better braking performance. There is not any alteration in the engine as well and it uses the fuel injected version of the 200cc, air-cooled motor that makes 21PS of power at 8,500rpm and delivers a peak torque of 18.1Nm at 7,000rpm. The double barrel exhaust has been replaced with a shorter unit that gels well with the overall styling.

Other features of the bike including the alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, rear petal disc brake, front forks and the rear monoshock have been retained from the stock motorcycle.
