BMW G310 R

BMW Motorrad has finally showcased its much-anticipated naked street bike G 310 R in India. The bike is produced by Indian two-wheeler company, TVS and engineered at BMW's facility in Munich, Germany. It is the first motorcycle of the joint venture of TVS & BMW and is speculated to go on sale later this year. Once launched, it will compete with KTM Duke 390 and will share its service network with recently launched TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

BMW G310 R resembles with its elder sibling S1000 R and is constructed on a rigid tubular steel frame. It comes in the three colors - Black, White, Metallic Blue and a paid White Base. At the front, the bike is equipped with a powerful headlight with sporty fairing and a fully digital instrument panel that consists of indicators giving information regarding average fuel consumption, engine temperature, fuel level along with a tachometer, odometer, speedometer, gear-engaged and average speed. The rear area of the bike house an LED tail lamp, body colored grab rail and clear lens turn indicator at the fender.

Technically G310 R is a 313cc bike that is built with single-cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine that is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The mill churns out 33.6bhp of power at 9000 rpm along with a net torque of 28Nm at 7500 rpm. The fuel injected motor will offer a decent amount of fuel economy of 30 kmpl and can hit a top speed of 145 kmph.

The bike is fitted with 110/70 x 17 front and 150/60 x 17 rear tubeless tyres that are encircled over five-spoke wheels. the suspension system of the bike includes 41 mm inverted telescopic fork up front and swingarm mono shock absorber at the rear. For braking, it comes with 320 mm and 240 mm disc brake at both ends along with an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) as an option.
