The Bajaj V12 premium commuter sits below the V15 and is priced at Rs 56,000/- (ex- Delhi

The V12 was announced officially last month at a V15 press conference and now the bikes have already come to showrooms  across the country.

Priced at Rs 56,000/- (ex-Delhi), the bike It looks identical to the V15 except for minor cosmetic changes and a smaller engine. It gets new 5-spoke alloy wheels with drum brakes at the front. There is no disc-brake option on offer. The front forks now have rubber gaiters while the rear gets a pronounced grab rail. The V12 gets slimmer 100/90 tyres at the rear instead of a 120/90 offered with the V15, whereas the front tyres are the same 90/90 section. There is a slight reduction in kerb weight of the V12.

The biggest change on the bike is the new 125cc engine which is derived from the  V15's 149cc engine but gets a different head architecture. The V12 is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder, engine mated to a 5-speed transmission, which produces 11PS and 11Nm of torque.

The Bajaj V12 is available in three colours - Wine Red, Midnight Blue and Ebony Black. We might see more colour options in the future. The V15 was well received by the audience thanks to its butch looks, fat rear tyre, removable plastic cowl and beefy exhaust. Its low pricing too attracted a lot of price-sensitive customers. Dealer sources inform us that the V12 is receiving similar interest from customers with a substantial amount of enquiries/bookings coming their way.
