The 2016 Kawasaki ZX-10R has been recalled due to breakage of a bolt that secures the mounting of the steering damper. Probably, the reason behind the bolt breakage is that the bolt was over-tightened during the model’s assembly. The 2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R made its India arrival very recently at a price of Rs. 16.4 lac (ex-showroom, New Delhi) along with ZX-14R, which is priced at Rs. 17.9 lac (ex-showroom, New Delhi). As of now, no announcement has been made by India Kawasaki Motor (IKM) regarding the recall of bikes in the country.

The Japanese bike maker has mentioned that the affected motorcycles were assembled between 28th October 2015 and 18th January 2016. The recall of the motorcycle was scheduled to start from 29th February and the owners will be notified about the procedure for the same. Authorised dealerships have been informed about the same and have been told to replace the steering damper bracket at no cost. Motorcycle owners can also contact the service center to check if their bike qualifies for the recall.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R now gets an upgraded engine that can pump out 200PS of power and delivers better mid-range torque for improved acceleration. The company also claims that engine has now been tuned for an enhanced response, thanks to a low-inertia crankshaft. The lighter frame of the motorcycle is now combined with a new set of electronics such as Bosch inertial measurement unit and an improved Ohlins steering damper to bring supreme performance. Even the suspension of the motorcycle is now developed in partnership with Kawasaki’s WBSK team and both the shock absorbers are developed by Showa.
