2016 Auto Expo: MotoGP Bikes that Cherished the Show

The 13th Indian Auto Expo that concluded successfully 3 days ago gave a lot of memories and experiences to the auto nuts. One thing that was liked by most visitors were the MotoGP motorcycles that were put on display. While the Rossi fans were attracted to his bike at the Yamaha pavilion, the Marc Marquez followers were magnetised towards the Honda machine. These bikes are often showcased at each edition of the Auto Expo but the craze of the epic machines never diminishes among the audience.

Let’s have a look on the three MotoGP marvels that were put on display during the motor show:

Yamaha YZR-M1

The machine is ridden by MotoGP star - Valentino Rossi, who is also known as the God of MotoGP. The bike is powered by a 1000cc, liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder engine that comes mated to a six-speed cassette gearbox. The motor cranks out a maximum power of over 240bhp that helps Rossi set tracks on fire with ease. For braking, the bike receives dual 340mm disc brakes with four-piston calliper at the front and a single disc brake with Brembo twin-piston calliper at the rear. The Michelin soft compound tyres does their duty perfectly and the M1 weighs 157kgs to keep things under control.

Repsol Honda RC213V

With a 1000cc, V4 engine, the RC213V cranks out a peak power output of 235bhp. The front and rear gets Ohlins suspension setup while the braking is done by Brembo carbon disc brakes at the front and Yutaka steel brake discs at the rear. The bike attracted a lot of visitors at the show and was seen with posers of different age groups. Besides general audience, the followers of Marq Marquez were continuously approaching the stall to admire the bike’s beauty and witness the companion of their role model.

Suzuki GSX-RR

The MotoGP rocket from Suzuki draws its power from a 1000cc, water-cooled engine that has been mated to a six-speed cassette type gearbox. The motor generates a maximum power of 226.8bhp that makes the bike attain top speed of over 330kmph. The suspension system comprises of Ohlins inverted forks up front and Ohlins mono shock absorber at the rear. The braking is taken care of by Brembo carbon disc brake up front while the rear gets Brembo steel disc.  

Aprilia RS GP

The bike was one of the main attractions of Piaggio booth at 2016 Auto Expo. Aprilia returned to the premium class in 2015 and the team was represented by Alvaro Bautista and Marco Melandri. There have been speculations that Aprilia would be using a new motorcycle for the 2016 season. The upcoming machine is expected to be developed based on the RS GP version only.
