Yamaha has unveiled an all-new 2013 Yamaha Vixion 150 motorcycle at the Jakarta Motorcycle Show, which is a naked version of Yamaha R15 with a downrated engine.  The Vixion (or V-Ixion) is being sold in Indonesia and received a facelift for the 2013 version, which features an all-new body design with newly designed headlamp cluster, profile, rear panels and even the wheels. You can get an idea from the images that the bike has been heavily inspired from the Yamaha R1 and the R15 instead of body covers. The bike has the same 4-stroke, 4 valve, SOHC, liquid-cooled engine and transmission from the Yamaha R15, but surprisingly  it generates a slightly lower power output of 15bhp at 8500 rpm with peak torque of 13.1Nm at 7,500 rpm.

Yamaha also boast that this engine comes with diasil cylinder and forged piston for enhanced performance.. Along with these changes the Vixion  got an all new ECU unit with a 33 pin diagnostics port for better error analysis and a more efficient fuel pump with an overglow control aperture in the fuel lid. The 2013 Vixion also gets a wider rear tyre which is now 120/70 makes it a bit heavier too.  The new Vixion also get a rear disc brake with a box type swing arm suspension.

The engine specifications of the bike remain unchanged, but the difference in weight and wider tyres may actually affect its performance slightly. The Vixion has been priced at 22 million Rupiah (Rs. 1.2 lakh) in Indonesia. We are considering it as a downgraded naked version of R15 because of the lesser power. There is little to no hope for its Indian debut and Yamaha isn’t planning to launch it outside Indonesia.
