TNT R Expert Review

Benelli TNT 1130R is a premium naked bike with class apart performance. The bike looks good and boasts of some pleasing features that enhance the experience of riding. Benelli TNT 1130R is powered by an 1130cc, in-line three cylinder, 4-stroke engine that churns out 158hp of power at 10,200rpm with a maximum torque of 120Nm at 8,400rpm. The 4-valve DOHC motor is mated to a six-speed transmission system. The electronic fuel injection system with three 53mm throttle bodies delivers a superior performance.

Benelli TNT 1130R sits on front steel trestle and rear aluminium alloy casting frame. It runs on 120/70-17 front and 190/50-17 rear tyres with stylish black alloys. The suspension system includes Marzocchi 50mm upside-down forks at the front and ZF Sachs fully adjustable mono-shock at the rear. The braking duties are carried out by 320mm dual discs with Brembo four-piston calliper at the front and 240mm disc with Brembo twin-piston calliper at the rear.

Benelli TNT 1130R is styled impressively as it is designed on the lines of a naked street motorcycle. The machine comes with a sporty and sharp twin headlamp section. The tank cowls look impressive with “TNT Tornado Naked Tre” inscribed on it. Further, they are incorporated with clear lens turning blinkers that give a majestic appeal. The rear section of the bike looks sporty with a solo saddle and a raised end. It is equipped with twin triangular tail lamps with an under seat exhaust that makes it look more fascinating. The bike also features a slipper clutch as a safety feature that prevents loss of revs in the case of aggressive downshifts. The bike has a fuel tank capacity of 16 liters.

Benelli TNT 1130R features an easy to read and informative instrument cluster involving a digital speedometer, analogue tachometer, temperature gauge and indicators stacked horizontally. With body dimensions of 2,100mm x 790mm x 1,050mm and a wheelbase of 1,443mm, the stance of the naked sport is very robust. 

Design

Benelli TNT R comes from the tribe of one of the finest looking streetfighters across the planet. It has been designed to cater the extravagant bike lovers who prefer power and style more than anything else. The front profile gets commanded by sharp twin headlamp section with a small black visor crowned over it. The fuel tank has been chiseled to perfection with the finest detailings and offers an upright yet comfortable riding posture to the rider. The longer turning blinkers are embedded impressively into the stylish fuel tank shrouds enhancing the overall style quotient. The front steel trellis frame extends itself to the rear aluminium frame and exposes itself beautifully as the machine’s tough skeleton. Like most of the beasts, this one has also got a super sporty step-up seat that provides an optimum comfort to the rider and pillion. The tail end of the bike looks stunning with the twin tail lamps and a powerful exhaust sandwiched in between. The bare athletic rear shows off the fat rear tyre quite impressively and delivers a superior styling to the bike.

The bike comes with body dimensions of 2,100mm x 790mm x 1,050mm (LxWxH) and has a wheelbase of 1,443mm that ensures agile and sharp handling in all conditions. The seat height remains at 830mm that gives ease of riding and convenience to short heighted riders as well. The instrument cluster of the machine is easy to read and gives an easy access to all the information to the rider. It comprises of an analogue tachometer and temperature gauge, a digital speedometer, tripmeter, clock and fuel gauge. The bike has been assisted with a 16 liter fuel tank that gives a decent range without refuelling. Benelli TNT R has a total kerb weight of 202kgs that makes it a bit bulky affair for freshers. 

Engine, Mileage & Performance

Benelli TNT R gets alive by a mighty 1,131cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, four-valve, in-line three cylinder, four-stroke engine that comes mated to a six-speed transmission system. The powerful mill crunches out a net power of 155.84bhp at 10,200rpm with a maximum torque of 120Nm at 8,400rpm. The motor has been assisted with electronic fuel injection system with 53mm throttle bodies, which ensures a crisp throttle response with an uninterrupted flow of power. With this mammoth configuration, the bike accelerates rapidly and reaches one of the best cruising speeds in the high-end motorcycling world. 

Handling & Ride Quality

The bike progresses on 120/70-17 front and 190/50-17 rear tyres that are mounted over robust and lightweight black aluminium alloy wheels. The exceptional stopping power is delivered by twin 320mm disc brakes with Brembo four-piston callipers up front and single 240mm wave disc brake with Brembo twin-piston calliper at the rear end. The suspension department is headed by high-performance Marzocchi upside down forks at the front and ZF Sachs fully adjustable mono-shock at the rear.

Benelli TNT R has been assisted with twin powerful headlights that deliver a steady and luminous beam of light to brighten up the road well at nights and low light conditions. The powerful braking system comprises of 320mm dual disc brakes and 240mm single disc brake at the front and rear end respectively. The slipper dry clutch prevents losing of revs and minimise the effects of engine braking in case of aggressive and harsh downshifts. The twin rear view mirrors keeps the rider alert and aware of the traffic behaviour behind his back.
