MY First Pride

I had purchased this "Beauty in a Beast" in the month of Feb 2k17.
At first the bike had a lot of issues, which I am sure is common with any new product. Knowing that Bajaj being a big bike brand are expected to make a machine that we can call it to be a bike like the RS200 and the NS200. But we should still see that this is it's first 400cc (373.3cc) bike in India and with the help of us customers it will make it even better.

Pros :

Very stylish and as per the bike’s manual I see that it’s design is based on a Male Lion with a thick mane around it’s head.
Sounds very refined and sounds like a sports bike with rev.
Has the best head-light that I’ve seen.
Very comfy for long rides.
Awesome suspension.
A very promising bike that will grow in the near future (possible only when we share our experience with the company, but there is one thing that we expect and that is Bajaj should look personally look into this and innovate on their product.)
Really cool braking-system especially when one has the ABS version.
The bike might be too heavy but it sure compliments the cornering when ridden at a good speed.
The MRF tires also compliment the stability if the bike when braking and also when one is on a corner.
Gear shifting : compared it’s other family members (Pulsar, Avenger & Discover) there is less noise when shifting above gear 3 and 4. (The con i will mention in the cons list)
Seating : really comfy especially the front seat. (The con i will mention in the cons list)

Cons :

Seating : The rear seat is literally the worst seat for a long ride.
Gear shifting : The Dominar 400’s !st and 2nd gear shift is one of the worst I’ve ever come across. Sometimes, during the downshift the gear feels like the has broken down and the bike might break-down.
Engine used to heat up pretty quick and just for experiment purpose I tried out the engine oil by Motul and since then the issue reduced a-lot. (So in my opinion Bajaj please pour a better type of engine oil in this bike.
The fuel economy it really bad as it gives me around 18-22kmpl. This for sure could make a hole in your pocket
THE GREATEST CON THAT ALL THE DOMINAR OWNERS WOULD EXPERIENCE : THE SERVICE QUALITY. I should say that being a premium bike from Bajaj all owners expect that the service provided for this premium bike by Bajaj should feel really AWESOME. But that’s no good. The Dominar service men at Bajaj might be trained on their stuff but the service quality is never up to the mark.
But apart from the above cons the bike still gives you an awesome feeling when you ride it.The pick-up is amazingly beyond my expectations and for the amount that this baby weighs, it is too agile and for sure the Slogan “GO HYPER-RIDING” is legit.

At the end of the day, at the price of 1.8L this bike is really worth every penny spent. KUDOS To BAJAJ!!!!
