Bajaj Avenger Street 220 Long Term Review
The last two years have been amazing, literally. The year was 2016, the month, December. After 35 days of Demonetisation, I felt I needed a new motorcycle. The purpose- Roadtrips.
After a thorough R&D on the internet and several hours on bikedekho portal. I decided to buy the best cruiser motorcycle on a budget- Bajaj Avenger Street 220.
Since then, I have taken the motorcycle to Shirdi (2800 kms round trip), to Nepal (1400 kms round trip) and several trips to Jaipur & Nainital.
The bike never lets you down. Just a service before a road trip and that is it. I never experienced any breakdown on my road trips. In 02 years I have changed the battery once and got 1 puncture. Other than that the periodic service is good enough to keep it golden. The riding stance is relaxing and I can sit on the saddle for hours without spraining my back.
The matte black color is surprisingly "International".
I have done more than 18000 kms on the odo and enjoyed every single one so far. As far as mileage is concerned I get around 35-38 kms in the city and around 45 on the highways. But you don't buy this one for the mileage, you buy it for the comfort it provides. And comfort is what you get, you sit like you would on a sofa.
A free service cost of Rs 550/- is lighter on the pocket as well. So far, I have found no con for this motorcycle. But If I am nit picking then I would say that Bajaj could have provided a kickstart on this machine. The absence of a kickstart will not harm the more than amazing appeal but for some riders it is a deal breaker.
Bottomline: If you are in the market for a decent cruiser and comfort is your No. 01 priority, get yourself a Bajaj Avenger Street 220.
