Suzuki Gixxer

Review

Still, India is a country where a major part of the two-wheeler market has been occupied by mileage munching machines. However, it has been reduced in the past few years and people, specially the young generation, are moving towards a segment above motorcycles. And this new trend has provided a high success to the premium 150cc motorcycles like Yamaha FZs. Using the same hit formula, with some high spec inputs, Suzuki introduced new 155cc Gixxer in competition to the other offerings in the respective segment. It is a naked sport motorcycle with peppy 155cc engine, performing better than its direct rival- FZ, while costing lesser.

Suzuki Gixxer 155 has been coupled with a whole new 155cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC mill that incorporates the latest Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology, which enhances both performance and engine output. The engine is configured brilliantly and comes mated with the six-speed manual transmission system. It resulted into generating a maximum power of 14.6bhp at 8,000rpm besides producing the peak torque value of 14Nm at 6,000rpm.

Suzuki Gixxer 155 plays a vital role in the growth of the company as it will be drawing a new canvas of success and prosperity. The bike has been created by the master designers of the ravishing GSX-R series. The attractive and muscular fuel tank, the bold and beautiful headlight and the intriguing end with a mesmerizing muffler steals the heart at the first attempt. The bike maker has given this machine a fully digital instrumentation that displays tachometer, speedometer, fuel level, gear number, clock and a few other indicators.

The bike also boasts 3-spoke alloy wheels enveloped on 100/80-17 inch front tyre and 140/60R-17 inch rear tyre. The rear tyre is a radial one that will allow the rider to bent more, while cornering, with enhanced grasp over the terrain. The front wheel comes fitted with the disc brake and the rear comes with a drum brake. Suspension system of the bike includes Telescopic at the front and mono-shock, swing arm type at the rear. The bike is simply gorgeous and thrilling and is made available to compete with Yamaha FZ-S, Bajaj Pulsar 150 and Honda CB Trigger.
