Yamaha reported a growth of 13.5 percent in sales last month

India Yamaha Motor Private Limited is an Indian subsidiary of Japan based two-wheeler maker, Yamaha Motor company, has reported a growth of 13.5 percent in sales at 33,944 units in the last month of this current fiscal year (2010-11)  from 29,900 units in the same month of last year. The recent additions to their products portfolio comprising of the successful. FZ series and R15 model. Besides, the newly entrant Yamaha SZ and SZ-X in the Indian auto market, the company getting wonderful response from the Indian buyers. 

Yamaha motors in India has been present in the market of low range economy bikes for a long time. Yukimine Tsuji, CEO & MD, India Yamaha Motor said, “We are pleased with our sales growth in September in spite of capacity constraints at vendors end and the resulting parts supply shortage. However, we are trying our best to fulfill the order backlog and meet the expectations of our esteemed customers this festival season. Having received an overwhelming response for FZ series, we are also launching Limited Edition FZ series bikes in Midnight Special color scheme during this festival season. We are confident that these too will be an instant hit among the biking enthusiasts.”

The company is hosting many safety and riding event across the country from few months ago for getting popularity in the Indian auto market like Yamaha Safe Riding Science, Yamaha R15 One Make Race Championship and Yamaha Service Camps. Indian Yamaha Motor is also targeting to capture its more dealer network in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. It is also growing its sub-dealers in rural areas too focusing on the commuter segment. On the other hand, another major two-wheelers are also ready to beat Yamaha motors like Bajaj Auto, Hero Honda and newly entrant Mahindra 2wheeler. The Mahindra two-wheeler has recently introduced its two new motorcycles such as Mahindra Stallio (commuter bike) and Mahindra Mojo (sports bike) in the auto market.
