Mahindra and Mahindra, the Indian auto giant, is not willing to take the ownership of Italian bike manufacturing company Ducati. Just a few days ago BMW announced that it is not interested in buying the stakes of Ducati. Recently Mahindra's disinterest in acquiring the Italian bike manufacturing company was also noticed. After BMW declared its intentions, Mahindra also made its stand clear. Volkswagen has not come with any news regarding acquiring ownership of Ducati. In the initial stages, three companies,Volkswagen and BMW were shortlisted along with Mahindra and Mahindra as the potential buyers for Ducati.

Ducati is one of the best  bike makers in the world. They have been doing a reasonable good business in recent times. The international market share is also increased for this Italian bike manufacturing company. Ducati has also stepped into Indian bike market with its new launch Ducati Monster 795. Ducati Monster 795 was specially designed for the Asian market. Ducati Monster 795 comes at a price tag of Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Mahindra and Mahindra also rolled back its 70% share to the owner of Engines Engineering company.  Engines Engineering is also an Italian company, which signed an agreement with Mahindra, designing and developing engines for Mahindra bikes. Mahindra pulled back from the ownership as Engines Engineering also signed an agreement with Royal Enfield company for re- designing Royal Enfield engine. This was one the major reason that contributed to stake roll back. Mahindra and Mahindra has also shown some interest in buying SAAB, which is an Swedish car making. SAAB is one of the oldest Swedish car-making company, and the Swedish car manufacturer declared bankruptcy recently, and said that it is beyond their capacity to run the business. In the past, SAAB was famous for its sedan cars, but could not keep up with the changing trends new car designs and engines.
