Hyosung GD250R

DSK-Hyosung GD250R, which was spotted some months back in India, will be displayed at the upcoming Auto Expo in Delhi next month. The bike was rumoured to be slated for launch in the country last year, but that did not turn out to be true. With the quarter-litre segment gradually spicing up the Indian two-wheeler market, there is a healthy possibility that DSK-Hyosung might launch the bike at the biennial event. DSK-Hyosung currently retails the GT250R and GT250N in India in the quarter-litre segment. Both come powered by the same 249cc, four-stroke, V-twin engine.

The GD250R, on the other hand, comes equipped with a 250cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that is mated to a six-speed transmission setup. The motor churns out a maximum power of 28bhp at 9,500rpm with peak torque of 24Nm at 7,000rpm. Other features include a fully-digital LCD instrument cluster, dual projector headlamps and aggressive body styling. Fierce stopping power is delivered by a 300mm disc brake up front and 230mm disc brake at the rear.

Besides the GD250R, the company might also showcase its naked styled sibling - GD250N - which is also powered by the same engine. Hyosung GD250R is expected to be priced under Rs. 2 lac and will compete with KTM RC 200 and Honda CBR 250R in this segment. If some reports are to be believed, Hyosung will also be bringing GT300R at Auto Expo that might replace the existing GT250R. Stay tuned for more updates on the Auto Expo!
