Honda displayed CBR 250R in Chennai, targets to sell 30K bikes

As an expansion plan of its strategy after termination of its joint venture with Munjals of Hero Group, the Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Ltd, the Indian alliance of Honda Motor Company from Japan launched its superbike Honda CBR 250R in Auto World Expo held in Chennai at Chennai Trade Centre. As is well known that after the termination of 27 years of successful joint venture between Hero group and Honda Motor company separated to establish their independent flagship in Indian market. But during this period of 27 years the bike sold by Hero Honda dominated the Indian bike market by diminishing the dominance of erstwhile Rajdoot and Yezdi bikes.

Expressing his views on the launching event of Honda CBR 250R, Mr. Naresh Kumar Rattan, Operating Head (Sales, Planning and Marketing) said, that this first sports superbike from Honda Bikes making its debut in bikes of 250cc segment in India. He further added that the future plans of extension include making the efforts for setting  the CBR 250R a global bike it would be exported to rest of the world from India and Thailand. There are two variants of Honda CBR 250R available in market one is the standard and the other one is ABS. The Honda CBR 250R Price In India for standard model is Rs. 1.45 lakhs whereas Honda CBR 250R Price In India for ABS model is Rs. 1.70 lakhs. The HMSL group expects to sale 30,000 units of Honda CBR 250 R in the first year of its launch.

Besides Honda CBR 250R, there are other models of Honda Bikes also present in market. The major models of Honda Bikes in India are Honda CB Twister, Honda Activa which have already captured the hearts of Indian riders with their powerful performance.

However talking about the expansion strategy Mr. Rattan said, that the second production unit of company in Tapukara (Rajasthan) which was supposed to start operating from September would start operating from next month as the result of intensive efforts by company. He also added that company speculates to set up its another operational unit at Karnataka in the coming future.
