Wearing Helmet for pillion rider will be necessary in Jaipur from March 1st 2011. This is the second time when the rule is supposed to be applied. This rule is already implied in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai. Jaipur is fast growing city in the country and traffic pressure is growing day by day and lots of accidental cases are coming.

As per the new rule, wearing helmet would be compulsory for ladies and kids as well; for that the police is in talks to helmet manufacturing company. According to  accidental cases reported in Jaipur, 70 percent peoples are being killed by head injury thus wearing helmet for the two wheeler pillion has become inevitable. Jaipur Traffic Police will start a campaign to make aware bike riders. As per the police, only ISI Mark helmets would be considered as legal equipment, local made helmets will be fined.

In India, longer seat is provided for commuter bike and premium bikes; the domestic bike makers sell these kind of longer seat bikes such as Hero Honda bikes, Bajaj Bikes, Honda bikes, TVS bikes, Yamaha bikes, Suzuki Bikes and Mahindra Bikes. However, those who owns Ducati bikes, KTM bikes and Aprilia bikes would be less effected as most of above said bikes come with single rider seat only.

Jaipur Traffic Police has started to aware bike riders through accident reports, slogans, and benefits of wearing helmets.
