Asia Dream Cup to be introduced as a part of Petronas Asia Road Racing Championship

For young bike aspirants who dream to rule the road by their biking talent, there is some good news to excite them. There are reports that reveal that the Two Wheels Motor Racing (TWMR) and Japanese auto giant Honda Motors have recently joined hands to introduce a new style of racing competition Petronas Asia Road Racing Championship. This championship is considered as scholarship program, under which 21 of the most talented upcoming bike riders from different countries of Asia and Australia will be chosen. Out of these 21 bike riders, 16 riders will be selected from Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, China, India, Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand, while remaining 5 bike riders will be selected from other Asian countries.

 

Honda CBR 250R

 

It is also reported that the bike riders will be asked to ride Honda CBR 250R during this championship to exhibit their biking talents. This championship is organized mainly to provide a stable platform to the young biking aspirants to improve their biking skills from 600 cc to Moto2 and Moto3 class. The winner of this championship would be honored with grand prize followed by chance of riding Moto3 spec bike along with first and second runners-up. It will also provide them an opportunity to enter as wild card entry in 2012 Moto3 bike contest.

Briefing about the features of Honda CBR 250R, it is a sports bike energized with 250 cc engine and is available in two variants anti-lock braking system and non anti-breaking system. It generates a power of 26.4 bhp and is engineered with 249.4 cc engine, four stroke, DOHC, 4-valves water cooled engine that reaches a speed of 100 kmph within 6.5 seconds. Coming toward Moto2, it was a new 4-stroke MotoGP World Championship that was introduced on December 11, 2008 to replace exciting 250 cc category biking competition from 2010. The major features of Grand Prix competition include single engine supplier and single tyre supplier.
