Auto division of Electrotherm (India) Ltd. (ET) was launched in the year 2006. The auto division of the company, Indus Elec-trans, launched electric bikes under the brand name of Yo Bykes with a installed capacity of 2,50,000 unit-per annum. The company produces electric bikes and scooters that are pollution free with zero maintenance and nominal cost operation. The Yo bykes products includes Yo Speed, Yo Smart, Yo EXL, Yo Xplor ER and Yo Electron ER. YO bykes are based on electrical technology where the rechargeable battery replaces the conventional engine. YO bykes can be charged as easily as a mobile phone wherever electric power connection is available.
At present, the company has more than 200 YO World outlets that meant for sales and service spares facility. ET started a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility with capacity to produce 2,88,000 units per annum at Kutch in Gujarat. YO bykes has been awarded with the Automotive Product of the Year 2007 award by OVERDRIVE-a leading automobile magazine. Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures’ (SIAM) has also awarded it the membership. The division's products are electric two wheelers. After receiving a great response from the customers, Indus plans to develop electric 3 wheelers, 4 wheelers and Hybrid Electrical bus.
