Honda Unicorn Alloy Overview

Honda CB Unicorn Overview

Honda needs no formal introduction as its a brand which can be trusted blindfolded and is a well known name due to its triumphant regime in a joint venture with Hero Motors as Hero Honda. Apart from playing along Hero Motors, Honda had successfully established itself with launching revolutionary scooters like Honda Activa, Honda Dio and Honda Aviator. Honda engines have carved out a niche for themselves with their internationally acclaimed performance in constructor's championship at MotoGP, which has given Honda an advantage over local players in terms of their marketing strategy, increasing its brand value in the Indian markets. The top class engines used in Honda's bikes on MotoGP circuits have gone upto 300 km/hr to 310 km/hr and have never worn out except on some rare occasions. Honda marked an entry in motorcycle industry in India with Honda Unicorn which was designed and built by the Honda R&D team in Osaka, Japan. It was first given the name CBF150M and the engine was adapted from CRF150F. This engine was introduced keeping in mind the Indian road conditions and several salient features like a two-way air jacket, diamond frame for the chassis were included. The first breed of Honda Unicorn was launched to compete against the Bajaj Pulsar and TVS Apache in the fledgling 150cc segment and it had spoke wheels and kick start only. Since then, Honda Unicorn has evolved as a favorite in its segment and has incorporated many changes including alloy wheels, powder coated engine with a polished head, electric start, stunning graphics, new clear lens for turn indicators, and a trip meter. Minor changes in cylinder head, overhead valve, ignition remap and a little increase in the rear sprocket have been incorporated in the bike to enhance its performance and acceleration.

Honda Unicorn has been playing very well for the last seven years since its inception. It has maintained its prestige in the rising competition with the arrival of various new players like Yamaha FZ-S, Yamaha Fazer, Yamaha R15, Hero Hunk, Suzuki GS150R, etc. Till now Unicorn has not received much changes in its design department. With an overall dimensional attributes of 2095mm x 750mm x 1100m this bike is much longer, wider and taller than its predecessor and offers a great amount of stability and control on the road.

Honda Unicorn CB Appearance

An array of updates were loaded in the Unicorn model with the face lifted version, Honda CB Unicorn. Its easily visible that Honda Unicorn carries similar design patterns as that of older version of Hero Karizma in its tail light and head lamps. Honda Unicorn CB carries on with the same headlight and mudguard but it now poses a new visor with a chrome finish just above the head lamp which adds classy look to the front fascia. Honda has replaced the 2D hologram emblem of Honda with a new developed 3D emblem on the fuel which all along with the graphics on the side panels looks good. An all black design theme has been given to the Honda Unicorn Alloy wheels, engine and grab rail along with an elevated exhaust pipe. This bike has been blessed with a large rear fender with an exciting tail light that has added to the macho looks of this motorcycle, but the racing inspired mono cross shocker under the seat can't be ignored as this is what has made this bike distinctive right from the very first day of its launch.
