Hero Honda Glamour Review
The design and look is no doubt is deserve prise thing in the Glamour. Over all, the Glamour is a modern-looking motorcycle. The Glamour cast its glamour with its charming, bold structure comes with very stylish and rare stripes. Front fairing, fresh bodywork runs the length of the bike. The front mudguard sports a dual-tone theme that is also carried over on the chain guard.
Stylish mirrors have a good match to the body shade and the decals which, though a tad jazzy for the sober among us, will surely appeal to those with a flashy bent of mind. Ergonomically-designed levers and palm grips are fine apparatus and the Glamour shares electrical switches with the Super Splendor. Each and every portion of the female is balanced as its tale is made in the right proportion. The tail lamps are perfectly carved with balance as well. The side and rear panels blend well with little slits adding visual relief, while racy chequered decals provide a flamboyant touch to the Hero Honda Glamour.
The bike stands out with its unique design in the hood. Aerodynamically shaped air pockets on both sides of the head lamp with sporty stickering on the sides and optimum overall size of the body. The fuel switch is significantly different than other bikes, big and easy to handle. The dash board comprises of speedometer and lacking digital equipments. The other important features include, Tubular double cradle type body frame, Trendy Visor, macho, Elegant Tri-pod head panel, Black alloy wheels, Black painted engine chain and case, Body coloured rear grip. This switchgear is easily the best on any Indian motorcycle with high and low beams deployed at the push of a button instead of a switch. A pass-light flasher is also included in the package which is delightfully easy to operate.
The Glamour is powered by the same ‘Quantum Core’ engine as on the Super Splendor. Quantum Core can be translated as smart marketing spiel for a powerplant pretty much in standard configuration. Its bigger fuel tank is available here with flush type cap. The bike has a 4-speed gear system, all in one way. Great for city riding.
If you are finding it difficult for changing the gears in one down, four up system, you would love Glamour. Brakes are typical of the 125cc bike segment -130mm drums in front and rear. It is also equipped with alloy wheels and what makes it different from others in its counterparts. The overall height, length and width of Hero Honda Glamour are 1017mm, 2005mm, 750mm respectively. It's kerb weight is 125kgs. It has a ground clearance of 150mm. Hero Honda Glamour comes with air-cooled, 4 stroke 'Quantum Core' engine with displacement of 124.7cc. The engine has a support for single cylinder and the electrical specifications of Hero Honda Glamour are 12V - 2.5 Ah and AMI (Advance microprocessor ignition).
Hero Honda Glamour develops 6.72KW of peak power at 7000 rpm and generates a torque of 10.35Nm@4000rpm. The Hero Honda Glamour is started by kick start and electric as well. It has 4-speed constant mesh type transmission. The front suspensions in Hero Honda Glamour include Telescopic hydraulic shock absorber and the rear suspension includes swing arm with hydraulic shock absorber. The bike emits a distinctive and pleasant exhaust note, the knock-free motor beating smoothly and like all Hero Honda products feeling reliable enough to purr away all day without trouble.
The fly in the ointment though is that this engine lacks significant punch with Performance prominently tardy when compared to any other modern 125cc capacity bike. The mechanism of piston in this bike is different from other bikes as the piston in the engine moves back and forth instead of up and down. So it is natural that the vibration is reduced in this case.
The bike also is best on account of its good balance and low engine noise. The seats are comfortable for both the family and the solo rider. Thicker tyre increases bike stability.
This 125cc bike is capable to take to 0-60kmph in 7.4 sec. Whereas 0-400m in 22.4 seconds. Top Speed is 98.7kmph and braking 60 kmph (meters) 19.1.
Fuel Efficiency is claimed 75 kmpl. But the users reported it around 50 kmpl. Fuel Tank full capacity is 13.6 ltrs. Large fuel tank capacity. Its saves frequent visits to the petrol pump. Average user reported mileage varies from 55.2 kmpl in the city to 58.3kmpl on highways.
Side draft variable Ventura (Piston) carburetor provides reliable support. Advanced microprocessor ignition system (AMI) aids optimal combustion and saves fuel. 18 inch alloy wheels have low maintenance being rust-free, and impact resistant.
The bike is the best in looks and smoothness. Good resale value as every Hero Honda bike.
The bike is not equipped with most new techniques like tubeless tyre, digital spedometer, mileage indicator etc. The huge fuel tank is finely placed but the knee recesses carved within it do not allow to comfortably accommodate a rider’s knees.
