    Swish Expert Review

Suzuki Swish 125 is the second offering by Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL), after Access 125. The company has enhanced the appearance of Swish with bold graphics and pleasing color range for targeting young population with a new fancy model. A few new elements are also introduced in the machine that make it more competitive. One of the changes from the previous model is a new instrument cluster that sports analog speedometer, digital dual trip meter, service reminder, fuel level, time and oil change indicator.

Suzuki Swish 125 is the only scooter to flaunt a blue lens position lamp and multi-reflector lights that offer a better view at night. The seat on the scooter is longer and wider and is a comfortable seat for two people during the long rides. The under seat storage is 20 liters and can carry a full-size helmet. In terms of security, Swish gets central locking with shutter key.

Suzuki Swish 125 runs on the same 124cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, OHC engine with CVT transmission, that was used in the previous model. The motor churns out a maximum power of 8.58 bhp at 7,000 rpm with a peak torque of 9.8 Nm at 5,000 rpm.

The 125cc scooter comes equipped with telescopic suspension at the front and swing arm type spring loaded hydraulic damper at the rear end. It runs on 90/100-10 tubeless tyres, which are supported by 120mm drum brakes for stopping power. The dimensions of Swish are 1,780mm x 650mm x 1,140mm (L x W x H) and has a wheelbase and minimum ground clearance of 1,250mm and 160mm respectively.

    Design

The new model of Swish 125 was launched with a lot of cosmetic changes. The sharp and edgy lines on the scooter bring out the overall character with a sophisticated V shape design at the front. The front of the machine is wonderfully designed and has eye-shaped turn indicators and headlamp unit housing a stout and efficient bulb for better visibility at night and foggy conditions. The rear view mirrors and rear aluminum grab rail look quite trendy and give the two-wheeler a ravishing look. As expected from Suzuki, the build quality of the scooter is up to the mark.

The 125cc scooter is 1,780mm long, 650mm wide, 1,140mm tall and has a wheelbase and minimum ground clearance of 1,250mm and 160mm respectively. Both the front and rear wheels come wrapped in 90/100-10 tubeless tyres.

    Engine, Mileage & Performance

Suzuki Motors have employed Swish 125 with an air-cooled, four-stroke engine which has the displacement of 124.6cc. The mono-cylinder engine generates a maximum power output of 8.58 bhp at 7,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 9.8 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The scooter returns a mileage of 40 kmpl in city riding and 50 kmpl on highways. The mileage offered by the scooter is impressive, keeping in mind its power of 125cc.

    Handling & Ride Quality

In terms of braking system, Suzuki has provided it 120 mm drum brakes at both the front and the rear wheel, that offer decent stopping power. The scooter is equipped with 90/100-10 tubeless tyres at both ends. It is a handy vehicle to maneuver through crowded areas and offers ample amount of power to ride fast on open roads. Its large wheelbase and long seat make it easy to seat two occupants comfortably. Swish has telescopic forks at the front and swing arm suspension at the rear to provide better riding.

    Features

Suzuki Swish has a number of wonderful safety features on offer. One of the key features is special shutter mechanism revolving around one control point, intended to reduce the chances of the vehicle getting stolen. The 120mm drum brakes also play a vital role of providing sudden stopping power.
