The Yamaha FZ 16 comes loaded with an air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, single-cylinder, 2-valve, 153cc powerplant that produces a maximum power of 14 PS at 7,500 rpm and churns out 14 Nm of top torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine incorporates return type five-speed gearbox. It has only electric start option along with CDI ignition. Yamaha FZ 16 is blessed with rear monocross suspension, 1335mm of wheelbase and front hydraulic single disc brakes.
Yamaha FZ 16 has a naked body type with stylish fuel tank, distinctive mask, sharp tail view and mid-ship silencer. It has been fitted with multi-reflector headlamp, big size radial tyres and handsome full digital LCD instrument panel. The fuel tank capacity of the bike is of l2 liters.
