Suzuki Intruder M1800R

Suzuki Intruder M1800R is Suzuki’s first cruiser motorcycle in India. The bike made its entry in Indian automotive market with the iconic supersports, Hayabusa. The aesthetics of the bike have been done so well that it looks a true blue cruiser from every angle. The machine is quite popular among the cruiser bike lovers due to its craftsmanship and trust maintained by the Japanese manufacturer.

Suzuki Intruder M1800R gets its power from a 1783cc, twin cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine. The V-twin engine is mated to a five-speed transmission system. The mill develops a maximum power of 127bhp at 6200rpm with a peak torque of 160Nm at 3200rpm. The thirsty engine produces enough revs needed to satisfy a typical cruiser freak. The transistorized electronic ignition system starts-up the Intruder.

The suspension system of Suzuki Intruder M1800R consist of inverted telescopic coil spring, oil damped shock absorbers at the front and link-type, coil spring, oil-damped shock absorbers at the rear. It runs on 130/70-R18 front and 240/40-R18 rear tubeless tyres with sporty alloy wheels. The bike comes with 310mm dual disc brakes at the front and 275mm disc brake at the rear. The entire body design is impressive and marks a definite flow pattern end to end. The bike sports a fuel tank of 19.5 liter capacity giving it a long-run without refuelling. A removable rear seat showcases the enhanced cruiser bike appeal.

The front fascia of the bike comes with a quadrilateral headlamp, which is cased inside a unique chrome streamlined headlight cover. The incorporation of fully chrome twin-silencers at the rear, that flows with the overall length of the bike looks fascinating. The tail lamp section is triangular consisting of red LED’s. The addition of some chrome elements here and there adds to that cruiser quotient. The instrument cluster is easily readable consisting of digital twin trip meters, low oil indicator, digital fuel gauge and a low fuel indicator. An analogue speedometer is mounted over the fuel tank, which carry forward the traditional cruiser bike styling. A chromed side-stand also looks appealing when the bike is parked sideways. 

The bike has a classy body design and comes with a majestic appearance. The front body profile witnesses a stylish headlamp section enclosed within a robust and chromed, aerodynamically-designed casing. The front inverted forks and a neatly designed fender shouts out loud the meanness of the machine. The fuel tank design follows a typical descending and curvy fashion that looks stunning. A lot of chrome has been implemented in the bike that finds its presence at the engine compartment, silencers, rear view mirrors and rear side body panels. Talking about the rear, the bike sports a step-up seat that looks munificent and enhances the overall appearance. The tail lamp section is triangular in shape and consist of bright LEDs that look stunning in dark. The number plate is tucked-in just below the rear fender showing the fat rear tyre and delivering a high-end feel.

Suzuki Intruder M1800R comes with body dimensions of 2,480mm x 875mm x 1,130mm and has a minimum ground clearance of 130mm that offers superb stability around the corners. Moreover, a wheelbase of 1,710mm ensures a fair handling in all conditions. The bike has been assisted with a massive fuel tank that can store 19.50 liters of fuel. The total kerb weight of the beast sums up to a whopping 347kgs, which implies that the bike cannot be everyone’s piece of cake. The instrument console is mounted impressively over the fuel tank and comprises of analogue speedometer, digital twin tripmeters and fuel gauge. However, the digital tachometer has been installed separately at the usual position besides handlebar. 

Suzuki Intruder M1800R has a powerful and luminous headlight that ensures a good vision at nights. Furthermore, the twin 320mm front and single 275mm rear disc brakes gives a commendable stopping potential to the machine and hence proves life-saving in case of an emergency. Suzuki Intruder M1800R gets its power from a 1,783cc, Four stroke, 2-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 54° V-twin engine that couples with a five-speed constant mesh gearbox and uses wet multiplate clutch to transmit the power to rear wheels. The powerful mill has a compression ratio of 10.5:1 with a bore x stroke ratio of 112mm x 90.5mm. It employs a transistorized electronic ignition system that ensures an undelayed ignition of the bike. With this arrangement, the bike sprints from 0 to 100kmph in 3.70 seconds, making it one of the most rapid cruiser bikes available in the country right now. 

The bike has been fitted with grippy and wide 130/70R18 M/C 63V tyre at the front and 240/40R18 M/C 79V tyre at the rear that have a good adhesion property and thereby offers a superior stability on the road. The suspension system of the bike consists of inverted telescopic, coil spring, oil-damped shock absorbers at the front and Link type, coil spring, oil damped shock absorbers at the rear. The aggressive stopping power is delivered by dual 320mm disc brakes at the front and a single 275mm disc brake at the rear.
