    18th August, 2015: Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) introduced its sturdy 110cc scooter - Aviator to give another strong choice to the Indian buyers in the automatic scooter segment. The vehicle is powered by a 109.20cc, four-stroke, air-cooled engine that cranks out 8bhp of power and 8.77Nm of torque. It gets a bunch of interesting features like Combined Braking System (CBS), tuff-up puncture resistant tube and elegant body design. The scooter is available at the dealerships in four attractive colours namely: Royal Gold, Black, White and Red. It locks its horns against leading 110cc scooters such as TVS Zest 110 and Yamaha Ray. 

  • Overview

    Honda offers its premium 110cc scooter in India christened as Honda Aviator, which comes with a stylish appearance and promises good ride quality. The scooter is the second best selling product after Honda Activa in the company’s 110cc scooter line-up and has been showing respectable sales right since its inception.

    Honda Aviator is powered by a 109.20cc, four-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled engine that generates a maximum power of 8bhp at 7,000 rpm with a net torque of 8.77Nm at 5,500rpm. The refined powerplant comes with Honda Eco Technology (HET) that ensures a superior mileage of 60kmpl along with a good combustion efficiency. The scooter has been equipped with 90/100-12 front and 90/100-10 rear grippy tyres equipped with tuff-up tube that prevents losing of air pressure instantly in case of a puncture. The vehicle comes to a standstill with the help of 130mm drum brakes installed at both ends. The braking gets more refined with the incorporation of Honda Combined System (CBS) that ensures a top notch braking experience. To make it even more fierce, the vehicle comes with a 190mm disc brake at the front as an option. The suspension system comprises of telescopic forks upfront and coil spring assisted shock absorbers at the rear.

    Honda Aviator has a well-designed body and a majestic front profile that comes incorporated with curvy headlamp section and clear lens indicators stacked impressively in the apron. The extra legroom provides enough space for the rider to experience a comfortable ride. The long and wider seat comes thickly cushioned and offers an optimum comfort to the rider and pillion. The scooter has a decent underseat storage of 20 liters that makes it handy and convenient. The rear end of the machine comes with a robust tail lamp that comes adjoined with clear lens blinkers looking premium. The scooter has body dimensions of 1,802 mm x 697mm x 1,162mm (LxWxH) with a wheelbase and minimum ground clearance of 1,256mm and 145mm respectively that ensures a good handling and stability. The vehicles has been assisted with a 6 liter fuel and weighs 109 kgs making it an easy to ride and control 110cc two-wheeler.

    Honda Aviator comes with a well-balanced body that gives it easy to ride characteristics. A masculine appearance with impressively styled halogen blesses the scooter with a much deserved top notch character. The apron comes with dual tone paintwork that delivers a premium feel. The front section has a raised and upward posture that gives a sturdy appeal to the machine. Coming towards the rear, it has been equipped with a wider and comfortable seat that makes even longer journeys stress free and soothing. The rear end features a stylish trapezoidal tail lamp integrated with clear lens turning blinkers.

    The body dimensions of the scooter are 1,802 mm x 697mm x 1,162mm (LxWxH) and has a wheelbase of 1,256mm. Furthermore, it comes with a minimum ground clearance of 145mm that gives it a fair amount of stability while cornering. It has been assisted with a 6 liter fuel tank that offers a good range due to its respectable mileage. The total kerb weight of the vehicle sums up to 109kgs and its seat has been mounted at a height of 790mm.

    Honda Aviator gets its power from a 109.20cc, four-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled engine that comes paired with an automatic transmission system. The mill churns out a net power of 8bhp at 7,000 rpm along with a maximum torque of 8.77Nm at 5,500rpm. It has a compression ratio of 9.5:1 with a bore x stroke ratio of 50mm x 55.6mm. Furthermore, the engine has been coupled with Honda Eco Technology (HET) that improves combustion, optimizes transmission and reduces friction in the engine resulting in an enhanced mileage output of 60kmpl as claimed by the company.

  • Braking & Handling

    The trendy scooter has been fitted with 90/100 -12 front and 90/100-10 rear tubeless tyres mounted over stylish alloy wheels with 12 inch front and 10 inch rear rim. The scooter has been assisted with 130mm drum brake at the front as well as rear that offers a good bite. Furthermore, the manufacturer also provides a 190mm front disc brake as an optional feature to enhance the stopping power of the machine. The braking system is equipped with Honda’s Combined Braking system (CBS) that applies both brakes automatically while pressing the rear brake lever only. Honda Aviator comes with highly durable telescopic forks at the front and swingarm with coil spring aided shock absorbers at the rear. The KVTA seat has been designed such that it gives a stable and secure position with less fatigue.

    Honda Aviator has a powerful 12V-35/35W headlamp that ensures a good vision in low light conditions and nights. The tubeless tyres do not deflate suddenly in case of a puncture and hence, offers enough convenience to the rider in case of a puncture. The manufacturer further offers a powerful 190mm disc brake optional front disc brake that gives a commendable stopping potential to the machine. The braking system incorporates Honda’s Combined Braking System (CBS) that proves worthy under harsh braking conditions. The maintenance free battery requires no topping up or periodic maintenance that saves a lot of money.
