Review of Hero MotoCorp Ignitor
Hero MotoCorp Ignitor OverView
The commuter segment of the Indian bike arena is already buzzing with a number of launches. Almost every bike maker has 125 cc bikes in the Indian bike bazaar. Hero MotoCorp, the largest two-wheeler manufacturer of India, launched the all new Ignitor in this market a couple of months ago. The first look of this commuter was unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo last year. Although, Hero have developed a reliable image across the globe for its unique and performance friendly commuters. The Ignitor does not seem to carry on the same vogue for Hero. The name of this bike is the only thing which has been changed; otherwise, it looks a replica of Honda Stunner. Along with Stunner, this bike will direct clash with bikes like Bajaj Discover, TVS Flame, Suzuki SlingShot and Yamaha SS. All these bikes are doing pretty well; this means, the path of alluring the hearts of bike-lovers and drawing their attention will not be so easy for Hero Ignitor. Let us take a microscopic look at the detailing of this new offering from the tried and trusted manufacturer and find out how it is going to attract the buyers.
Hero MotoCorp Ignitor Designing
At first glance, the Ignitor looks quite alike Honda Stunner and that is because there is almost no difference between these two in terms of design. The core design and dimension of this bike is taken from its erstwhile partner's bike; therefore, it can be easily mistaken as Stunner. However, Hero has tried to make it look different from Stunner. A couple of changes that are made, include the latest front cowl. Another thing which seems to be a part of new designing scheme is its visor painted in black and the headlight. This design scheme is also a part of Hero's other bikes too. Get to the side of this motor-cycle and then it can be noticed that a few more changes including different side panels and Dual tone rear view mirrors have been made to differentiate it with Stunner.
Hero Ignitor Appearance
In terms of appearance as well, this bike looks no differ than its former partner's two-wheeler. It carries most of it styling of Honda Stunner, which include quite similar front portion and the back part as well. The effort needed to make this bike look unique, would involve the use of graphics that runs from the fuel-tank up to the middle part of this motorcylce. To make it look a little sportier, Hero has skipped the saree guard that is found in Stunner. Its sharp design plays an important role in making it look sportier that also aids aerodynamics. The front part is aesthetically built, looks pretty good and goes well with its appearance. The name of the bike and sporty decals are etched on its semi fairing and side panels. The stepped up seat and muscular fuel tank are directly adopted from Stunner. Its black coloured alloy wheels and carbon finishing on its silencer, goes well with all colour schemes. The rear end of this motor-cycle features a small tail-light, body coloured grab rail and sleek mudguard, much like Stunner. Nonetheless, a little more alteration could have given this bike its own identity.
Hero MotoCorp Ignitor Engine And Performance
The all new Hero Ignitor features a slightly altered, mono-cylinder, four-stroke engine with 124.7 cc displacement. The air-cooled and OHC engine churns out a maximum power production of 11 bhp available at 8000 rpm with utmost torque out put of 11 Nm which enables 5000 rpm. The engine of this two-wheeler is mated to a 5 speed manual transmission with gear-shift pattern of one down and the rest, up.
Hero Ignitor Mileage
On the grounds of fuel-consumption, this two-wheeler stands firm and delivers a decent mileage on an average. It delivers fuel-efficiency of 45-55 kmpl in city conditions whereas it manages to scoop out a meaty mileage of 55-60 kmpl on wider roads of a highway. Such impressive fuel-efficiency is a big relief, especially at a time when fuel-prices are soaring high day by day.
Hero MotoCorp Ignitor Braking And Handling
The braking and handling of the bike has been made quite sound in order to avoid any emergency on the roads and that is better than Discover. It powers its front and the back brakes with 130 mm drum brakes respectively to offer the riders a wonderful ride which is reflected while touring. The ride is made more enjoyable by equipping the bike with very efficient suspension system. The front suspension is powered by telescopic forks whereas it features hydraulic shock absorbers at its back. However, you miss the Nitrox suspension offered by Bajaj as the so called 'optimum comfort' provided by its suspension set-up is not up to the mark and many bumps and potholes can be felt while riding which does not make the ride, great. Hero Ignitor lacks Anti Braking System which could give this bike a chance to go a mile ahead of Stunner.
Hero MotoCorp Ignitor Safety Features
As far as the safety measures of Hero Ignitor is concerned, Hero has tried to make this two-wheeler better, but, ends up with an ordinary effort. It comes with side guards at its front which avoids direct injury the event of a clash; there is also enough under seat storage space for more safety. This bike would have gone one step ahead then Stunner if it had boasted an ABS system.
Hero MotoCorp Ignitor Colors
The colours in which this commuter is going to be available are four; Pearl White, Sports Red, Vibrant Blue and Panther Black Metallic. At least, Hero has done a little well in this area in order to turn it a different bike.
Hero MotoCorp Ignitor Pros
On the whole, the all new Hero Ignitor becomes a motor-cycle worth buying only for its little altered styling and economical fuel-consumption. In addition, it is an offering from one of the most reliable and credible brands of India and that is why it will retain its value even at the time of re-selling.
Hero MotoCorp Ignitor Cons
A 'carbon-copy' design is one of its vital drawbacks. It lacks its own identity as it has almost the same design and appearance as the Stunner has. Hero should have done some justice while manufacturing this in terms of design.
Hero MotoCorp Ignitor Review
I brought "her", Hero Ignitor in July 2013, and I treat my bike like my woman. Just wanted to let you all know, that whatever is written in fuel efficiency row about this bike, is all fake. actually the bike will give you reading of 67KMPL if you put shell super in your bike, and 65KMPL if you put shell normal fuel in it. About bike economy : "She" produces 1500 RPM on shell fuels due to its slightly large density and slight change in natelite. Although, if you fill indian oil fuel, she will produce, 2000RPM, of course, its due to its low density, causing large supply of fuel to your...
i got my IGNITOR on 9th august 2013......all i can say is if u r bored by watching SHINE, DISCOVER & SPLENDORS.....just go for IGNITOR which has (fresh & stylish looks + mileage). Riding & Handling is awesome...seating posture is best & much comfortable.
