17th August, 2015: Hero MotoCorp Glamour is a stylish 125cc player that took its birth in the stable of the country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer. The bike is the most good looking product in the company’s 125cc portfolio. The bike comes in two fuel system options viz. carbureted and fuel injection. Hero MotoCorp Glamour also proudly holds the name for India’s first fuel injected motorcycle. It further features a digital unit in the instrument cluster, attractive graphics and a sharp body design that make it more appealing. The bike is available across the nation in the following breathtaking colors: Candy Blazing Red, Black with Tornado Grey Metallic, Black with Sports Red, Black with Techno Blue and Digital Silver. On the other hand, it's fuel injected variant, Glamour PGM-Fi comes in three interesting colours, which are: Candy Blazing red, Techno Blue and Black with Sports Red. The bike competes against Yamaha SS125, Bajaj Discover 125 and TVS Phoenix 125.
Hero MotoCorp Glamour was introduced more than a decade ago in the Indian markets by the country’s largest two wheeler manufacturer. The bike has shown some decent figures on the sales chart right since its inception and kept up the trust of the company pretty well. Besides this, it was the first bike in the country to come with a fuel injection system which was then could only be imagined in four-wheelers.
Hero MotoCorp Glamour gets its power from a 124.7cc, four-stroke, air-cooled, OHC engine that comes mated to a four-speed gearbox. It churns out a maximum power of 9bhp at 7,000rpm with a peak torque of 10.35Nm at 4,000rpm. The bike uses AMI as its default ignition unit. With this hardware, the bike sprints from 0 to 60kmph in 7.5 seconds and hits a top speed of 94kmph. Hero MotoCorp Glamour is fitted with 2.75 x 18 – 42 P/ 4 PR front and 3.00 x 18 -52 P/ 6 PR rear tyres that have a good adhesion to the road. To offer a smooth and comfortable ride, the bike has been equipped with telescopic forks upfront and swingarm with hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear.
The body design is impressive with suitable edges and curves here and there. The bike has been facelifted after it was launched and witnesses some neat cosmetic changes. The front fascia gets a stylish sharp headlamp section integrated with clear lens turning blinkers. The fuel tank is too sharply designed and comes adjoined with the robust tank shrouds. The bike has a long and comfortable seat that offers a stress free ride. At the rear, it comes with an impressive body coloured rear grab rail and a munificent tail light that further intensifies the bike’s appeal. The instrument cluster of the bike is easy to read and informative that comprises of an analogue speedometer, digital fuel gauge, tripmeter and odometer along with the usual telltale lights.
The front profile of the bike comes with a sharp and angular headlamp integrated with a parking lamp. The neatly chiseled fuel tank looks good with the tank shrouds and offers a good riding posture. The bike has a long and well-padded seat that provides comfort to rider and pillion even on long journeys. The side body panels receives an impressive finish and comes with a stylish air vent embedded into it. Coming to the rear, the bike has a fascinating tail lamp with clear lens turning indicators. The body coloured rear grab rail adds some more premiumness in the visuals of the bike. Hero MotoCorp Glamour receives an all-black theme and comes wrapped in attractive graphics that make it a handsome and worthy 125cc offering.
Built on a Tubular, double cradle type frame, the bike comes with the following body dimensions: 2,005mm x 735mm x 1,070mm (LxWxH). It has a wheelbase of 1,265mm that offer it good handling even in tight city traffic. Moreover, a minimum ground clearance of 150mm gives a good stability around the corners. The bike has been fitted with a 13.6 liter fuel tank and has a total kerb weight of 125kgs.
Hero MotoCorp Glamour is powered by a 124.7cc, four-stroke, air-cooled, OHC engine that comes mated to a four-speed transmission system. The mill develops a peak power of 9bhp at 7,000rpm with a net torque of 10.35Nm at 4,000rpm. it uses the same AMI-Advanced Microprocessor Ignition System that is employed in all its 150cc and above capacity bikes. The engine has a compression ratio of 9.1:1 with a bore x stroke ratio of 52.4mm x 57.8mm.
The bike has been assisted with 130mm drum brakes at the front and rear that provides a good stopping power. An optional disc brake is also provided that further enhances the bike’s braking. The suspension kit comprises of telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at the front and swing arm with hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear end. Hero MotoCorp Glamour runs on 2.75 x 18 – 42 P/ 4 PR front and 3.00 x 18 -52 P/ 6 PR rear tyres that offer a superior grip on all surfaces.
Hero MotoCorp Glamour receives 130mm drum brakes at both ends that offer superior braking. Furthermore, the braking system comes assisted with an optional front disc brake as well to increase the stopping potential of the bike. A powerful 12V-35/35W headlight delivers a steady beam of light and illuminates the road well in low light and dark conditions. The twin rear view mirrors alert the rider of any incoming traffic approaching him, thereby preventing any mishap.
