Review of Hero MotoCorp Xtreme

Hero MotoCorp Xtreme OverView

CBZ, first launched in 1999, was a mutual venture of Hero Honda. Before the split of Hero and Honda, CBZ was their major weapon in the two-wheeler market. The 150 cc segment, flooded with many ecstatic bikes, welcomed this new launch whole-heartedly. This sporty looking basher never bowed down before anyone and soon became a popular face on the roads. Its popularity can be well defined by the fact that this bike still holds a firm grip in the market even after 14 years of its launch. CBZ has been going through up gradations quite regularly, mostly to suit the requirements of the present day market. Its design was very much inspired from the Honda CB series and carried that sporty element ever since. In 2001, a new variant named CBZ Star was launched to boost the sales. It was discontinued in late 2005s, and in 2007, a totally new version of CBZ came up. It was called CBZ Xtreme and was designed very differently from its earlier version. Since then, it has been going through modifications and cosmetic surgeries.

This is a premium bike of the Hero group, placed even above Hero Motocorp Hunk. After the split of Hero and Honda, this bike was named Hero Motocorp CBZ Xtreme and has been a priceless boost to Hero Motocorp’s sales. Hero Motocorp CBZ was earlier fitted with a Honda 156.7 cc engine, but with the launch of its new face in 2007, it was equipped with a 149.2 cc engine and it has been same since then. With its demolishing looks and sporty character, the bike has been in demand for a long time.  Hero Motocorp CBZ carried a raw look since beginning and it got a complete makeover in 2001 with totally different chassis and headlight. Hero Motocorp CBZ is a flagship bike from Hero Motocorp and has been its best seller in the 150 cc segment since very beginning.

Hero MotoCorp Xtreme Designing

The sporty character of Hero Motocorp CBZ is well reflected by its built. This muscular hunk is designed to meet the needs of young generation craving for power and style. The Old CBZ brought about a new trend in the market with its unique styling and the present day CBZ is no different. With its well-built body and stylish headlight and taillight, it definitely demands a second look on the road. Hero Motocorp CBZ comes with a large headlight integrated with turn indicators. The pilot lamp is placed just above its headlight, and the huge fuel tank is very much inspired from the old Hero Ambition. The arrow shaped protruding part on the fuel tank looks great with a logo of “Xtreme” engraved upon it. The wide and comfortable seat is a typical Hero one. The LED taillight looks classy with the integrated turn indicators. The split grab rails at the back are just like bull’s horns. The silver polished exhaust pipe looks lavishing. This new ravishing look of Hero Motocorp CBZ does carry a sense of freshness with itself and since its launch in 1999, all the cosmetic changes have proved worthwhile. From the bold raw look in 1999 to a muscular sporty look in 2012, the bike has been a source of inspiration for other manufacturers.

The 2001 CBZ Star remarked the presence of a new CV type carburetor with carburetor controlled variable ignition that replaced the old sliding type carburetor. The engine used in Hero Motocorp CBZ is same as in Hero Motocorp Hunk, with minor modifications. The throttle response is excellent and the buyers demanding great power will get what they desired for. The soothing sound of the engine pleases the ears and the ride is terrific.
