The 250cc bike segment is the ever increasing segment globally and for last few years it is growing in India as well. So, keeping this in mind, Yamaha is going to unveil a new 250cc bike Yamaha YZF-R25 in upcoming EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan. We are expecting Yamaha to launch the similar bike in India as well. If it happens then the bike will certainly be a tough competitor for Honda CBR250R, Kawasaki Ninja 250R and KTM Duke 200.

As most bikes of the segment, Yamaha R25 is also expected to be a racing replica; most probably of Yamaha R6. We are expecting it to be showcased as a concept at Milan Motorshow which might go for production in early 2013 and on sales later in the year. As far the price is concerned, Yamaha might produce the bike locally to reduce the production cost. The bike might cost somewhere around Honda CBR250R, while the ABS version of the bike will cost around Rs. 2 lakh.

It is very difficult to comment on the specification of the bike; however we are expecting a 250cc twin cylinder engine for quarter-litre engine, which will help the bike to produce a maximum power output of 35bhp. The bike can also share parts with Yamaha R15, so price can be put even more affordable. Yamaha has to launch this as early as possible because there are few more bikes already lined up for their Indian debut including KTM Duke 390, Bajaj Pulsar 375, Kawasaki Ninja 300R and some others.
