Yamaha to take Indian rural market on priority

One of the major & promising two-wheeler maker Yamaha is now looking forward to expand its reach towards the major bike consuming rural areas by increasing the number of compact stores named Yamaha Bike Corner(YBC) that company has just started, at present the company is having only one YBC and planning to mark the numbers up to 250 by the end of financial year 2011, as the company's pre-launched Yamaha Crux is still doing well in the rural market and helped it out to get 15% of total sales from the Indian rural market, and after seeing a competitive response of Yamaha YBR 110 in rural market, the company officials have now planned to take the rural market on priority, the company has already sold 4,000 units of its latest launched Yamaha YBR 110 in rural market that has been projected last month only which is a great news for the firm. India Yamaha Motor's National Business Head Pankaj Dubey said ”We are doing really well in Tier I & Tier II cities of India, and now looking at the response, company is planning to project a good range of affordable & competitive bikes in small towns & villages to hold a larger stake in rural market” On the other hand, the other major player Bajaj Auto has recently introduced an all new Bajaj Discover 150cc at Rs.46,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Apart from that, there are two other major bike launches that include Honda CB Dazzler and Suzuki Zeus.
