Yamaha ASEAN Cup U-13 Football tournament concludes in Kolkata

After two exciting weeks of football fever, the Yamaha ASEAN Cup U-13 Football concluded on May 27 amidst fun and celebration. Team Kolkata walked away as the champions along with the opportunity to represent India in the third Yamaha ASEAN Cup U-13 Football Finals to be held in Thailand from July 15, 2011 to July 17, 2011.  The event has been organized to step up the company’s brand image in India. Yamaha currently offers bikes in every series from Yamaha VMAX which is a 1,679cc bike to 106cc Yamaha Crux.

 

The event was attended by Mr. Hiroyuki Suzuki- CEO & MD, Mr. Jun Nakata- Director- Sales & Marketing and Mr. Roy Kurian- National Business Head, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. The event had attracted thousands of football fans across the country and received an overwhelming response from the participating teams. The tournament that began on 15th May 2011 witnessed participation from over 120 players and 8 teams from Pune, Nagpur, Cochin, Kolkata and Assam.

 

The winners, Team Kolkata, will represent India at the 3rd Yamaha ASEAN Cup U-13 Football and compete against 5 Asian countries namely- Thailand (2), Indonesia, Vietnam & Malaysia.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Hiroyuki Suzuki, CEO & MD, India Yamaha Motor, said, “We are very pleased with all the teams’ performances and would like to congratulate Team Kolkata for winning this championship. They have displayed amazing talent and a remarkable spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship. This is definitely a great opportunity for them to showcase their talent at the ASEAN cup and I wish them all the very best in the upcoming matches. I would also like to thank all the participating teams who have contributed in making this event a huge success.”
