To celebrate the spirit of the X-Men: Days of Futire Past, TVS has introduced a new Matte Black edition of its flagship motorcycle- Apache RTR 180. The dark theme motorcycle has recived an all Black skin with matte Grey graphics. The company has already released a TV commercial of this edition and it has been priced at Rs. 71,770 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Mechanically, it's the same TVS Apache, which is known for a great performance in light sport segment. Apart from this new option, the bike is also available in standard White and Black colour options.

TVS says that the Apache RTR 180 is the meanest machine in its segment with its beast inspired headlamp unit. The bike gets LED DRLs combined with the new pilot lamps to form a pair of intense animalistic eyes. The company claims that the bike gets a very masculine appearance with its muscled tank, tail cowl and engine cowl. Apart from contributing to its aggressive look, its aerodynamic tank cowl also improves the performance by keeping the engine heat 10 degree low.

TVS apache RTR 180 comes with a sculpted digital display, which features new nocturnal-blue backlit display, countdown-on-ignition speedometer and race-inspired carbon fibre clues. The bike comes equiped with a 270mm Roto-Petal disc brake at the front, while the rear gets 200mm one. The company also offers ABS as an optional equipment with the bike, which costs around Rs. 10,300 extra. Its advanced front telescoopic and spring loaded, Mono tube Inverted Gas filled (MIG) rear shox performs quite well with its braking system.

Powering the TVS Apache RTR 180 is the same 177.4cc, single-cylinder, SOHC mill, which poweres its standard variant.Using Racing Throttle Responce (RTR) technology, the bike churns out 17bhp of maximum power at 8,500rpm and the peak torque figure stands at 15.5Nm @6,500rpm. 180cc is a very rare segment in the INdian market and the bike has only one bike- Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTS-i in competition. Although, Pulsar is the most popular sport bike series in the market, TVS apache has a different set of fans (specially stunters) in 180cc category.
